Well, we mammals better enjoy the spotlight while it lasts. It may be a while from now but sooner or later and one way or another our reign will meet its decline, birds will most likely take our place as the dominant life forms, and we mammals will go back to square 1. And ironically since birds are dinosaurs, when they hit the spotlight it'll be like the Mesozoic Era all over again.

Doubt it, after mans reign there wont be much left I would think, we will not go out in a whimper, we will go out with a bang.

No, I think we humans would be replaced by sapient ravens or parrots.

Yaaaa... I doubt that... alot actually. also Birds are not dinosaurs, they are the descendants of dinosaurs yes, but not true dinosaurs so in all actuality it would be the Avian Age.

Yes you can. Chimps and Gorrilas aren't Genes Homo but they are Related to us. Dogs aren't Wolves but they are related to wolves. And Bird aren't Dinosaurs but they are related.

The first example is different from the second and third example.
The first example is that they are related, while the second and third are that they are different versions of the same thing.
Birds=dinosaurs, but dinosaurs=/= birds.

.... Dinosaurs and Birds aren't the same thing. They are Related things. You are right i could have used a better example then Dog and Wolf.
Saying a Trex and a Chicken are the same thing is like saying a Human and a Chimp are the same thing. Where as we are both related to Australopithecus. Modern reptiles and Birds are Related to some Dinosaurs.

Saying a T. rex and a chicken is the same thing is not saying birds are dinosaurs.
You need a much better understanding of phylogeny.

*facepalms* Good lord. Ok. From the top.
Saying that two genetic Relatives are the same thing is not right. Yes, Humans and Chimps are Apes. And we do have similar Physical makeup. But we are two different Genius with a Common ancestor. T.Rex and a Chicken are related. Bird and Dinosaurs, Despite being related, are two different things. Dinosauriformes are not Avians. And Avians are not Dinosauriformes. They are Related. But not the same.
I'm not arguing Evolution. I'm Debating the fact that just because something is related to something doesn't Make it that thing. A Hawk isn't a Dromaeosauridae. Even if its a "Raptor."

Just because Archosaur includes Birds and Crocs doesn't mean they are Dinosaurs. Humans are Great Apes but we aren't Chimps and Chimps aren't us.

In the same way humans are great apes, birds are dinosaurs, because a dinosaur is not just one species.

god damnit. no. Avians and Dinosaurs are in the same Catagory but they aren't the same thing. Avians are Birds. Dinosauromorph are Dinosaurs.
Both Avians and Dinosauromorph are in the class Avemetatarsalia. So no. Birds and Dinosaurs are not the same. They are Related But not the same.

Actually you are half right. Only some birds are directly related to dinosaurs. But a large percent aren't. These are classed under Archosaur which contains Non-Avian dinosaurs and Birds. For instance, Crocs and Emus. In any case I grow Weary of this debate. Birds aren't Dinosaurs and Dinosaurs aren't Birds. They are two sides of the same coin but not the same.

I know but a lot of people consider them dinosaurs so that's why I said it'd be like the dinosaurs would rule again. But I also find it likely that Ravens would replace us. They are among the most intelligent birds along side parrots.

Ravens and Parrots? again you do not realize the Raven is only as smart as a Crow, and Parrots yes being incredibly intelligent. Something doesn't have to be sentient to replace us as the dominant species on this world... if one becomes a super predator and all the sudden feels that man is the perfect food supply then hell its very possible.

Well I know Ravens are just as smart as crows, I said only ravens because I like ravens. Look, my point is that crows and parrots have a high chance of becoming intelligent like us.
