Id rather see another type of mammal take the top because I think mammals are the best thing to happen to this world... then again.. mammals could be the worst aswell

There is a fish that can almost fly. You can read about it here--->[link] It'd be nifty if fish could really fly like birds can.

Not really reptiles/lizards/dinosaurs showed up a little earlier then mammals, but yes more or less.

Well our ancestors, the Cynapsids ruled the world long before the dinosaurs. It seemed that the Age of Mammals was set to happen much sooner than expected. But then the Permian Extinction happened, reseting the clock for everyone. Then the dinosaurs cheated and got on top.

Even back in the day there was Repenomamus, which was big enough to prey on a lot of the small theropods it lived with...

You mean it may not have been?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MugenSeiRyuu In reply to Albertonykus [2010-12-06 06:43:48 +0000 UTC]

While the remains of Psittacosaurus Hatchlings have been found inside its stomache, there is no proof if it actually hunted them or if they died of other reasons. Also, those legs appear a bit short for a predator. While long arms are not neccesary for a predator, atleast a decent leglength is needed.

Albertonykus In reply to MugenSeiRyuu [2010-12-06 07:52:45 +0000 UTC]

That's true, but we know it ate meat, at least. And since only big soarers can be obligate scavengers, I wouldn't be surprised if Repenomamus hunted something at least some of the time. Maybe mostly slower reptiles and amphibians, but faster prey when it could catch them. Kind of like a badger, probably.
