Description
This is VERY OUT OF DATE - but I keep it here for the sake of records. The species is now called SIDERIAN. See my newer posts - www.deviantart.com/felisglacia…
The standard of my gigantic fantasy feline, the cheederian (Metafelis lamnis )updated march 2012.
The cheederian is a horse-sized feline with the overall skeleton and shape of a tiger (especially the hindquarters) but the head length- body length - shoulder height- proportions of an Eurasian lynx. As for the long legs and large paws. The front legs are somewhat heavier than the frontlegs of a lynx and are more tigerlike. The head and elegance of a cheederian is also inspired by the Oriental cat, as for the fur. Many cheederians have the fur of an Oriental longhaired cat. Cats form the main inspiration source for the cheederians fur.
Cheederian individuals vary in the % influence of lynx, Oriental cat or tiger in their anatomy. Some have a very high tiger influence (Stian), while others are much more lynx like (Niver) or Oriental cat like (Rubi).
I have a lot of cheederian characters and I'm working on a graphic novel with these characters.

Thanks! Their previous name was TeechalfoW, and their former appearance was of a wolfcheetah. However, I realised that I'm actually more an Orientalcat and feline lover, so I descided to remove any canine features and transform my original species into a fully feline hybrid.

yeah i remind them-
and i was never able to keep the name in mind... anagramme von wolfcheeta
the new name i also easier to keep in mind, and the design isalso better^^
and those anatomy hings also help with normal anatomy because i never did find something like that!
so thanks!

Amazing work MysticA - oh, how I LOVE your cheederians!
I love how you've defined the two types, and I actually REALLY like the new sort of tiger/puma influence you've given them <3
Lol, my Krovendrakk species also exist in clans with separate characteristics:[link] .
You'll need to download though if you want to read the text (doesn't take long though
) It's kinda drawn quickly, so the anatomy's not great, but you can still see the clan differences

Haha thanks a lot!! Yep, they have been evolved into a fully feline hybrid The first cheederian I noticed the tiger influence was acually Stian XD He is so powerful and tigerlike that I thought...hmm there is nothing cheetah left in him. So I studied tigers and other felids more in detail to define my species more in detail as an Oriental cat-cheetah-tiger (or puma) hybrid
And yeps I've indeed seen the differences among KD's! Very interesting how you've thought about every detail 8D. I'm also still working on different geographical dispersed types (I've already defined the North American, Eurrussian, SOuth Asian, African and South American types 8D)

zephyrwolfen In reply to FelisGlacialis [2010-11-14 14:06:28 +0000 UTC]
You're very welcome
And lol, I just commented on one of your replies saying that I thought Stian was the first to look like that - lol, coincidence
And thankyou very much And the different types certainly play a big part in KD relationships - certain clans are... less than friendly with each other
(the Fjorhal aren't really friendly with anyone
)
And I can't wait to read that, I'd love to see your different races!
