The third (and last) experimental watercolour painting that I did in August .

See here the siderians (northern horse-sized cats) Stian and Yava. They are the main ‘characters’ of the story that I’m (slowly) working on. The story will be about Stian’s life but I may take Yava and some others (possibly Goran and Jerald too) as lead PoV characters.

On a deeper spiritual level I can say that Stian has meant (and still means) a lot to me. He has been an eye- and ‘gate’ opener in many ways. I still remember the day that he came to me vividly (20th of August 2009). Yava was first seen by my friend and she means a lot to her as well.

Stian has gone through a lot of hardship in his life and traumatic experiences with humans have led him to start a force of siderians to fight for their right to live. He has had a close bond with his similar aged cousin Yava since they were little cubs. She has always understood him deeply and she was one of few whom trusted enough to talk about what he has gone through and what motivated him to take such rigorous actions. As cubs they have spent countless of nights watching the Northern Lights, and they continued to do so as adults whenever they had a peaceful moment together. They often enjoyed these magickal serenety in silence or they drifted off in deep reflections over their lives when they could, for once, forget the stress.

The drawing:
About A4 on 300 gsm paper (forgot the brand).
Van Gogh water colours: ultramarine blue, a bit of cobalt blue, payne’s gray, viridian green, a touch of permanent green, a touch of madder lake deep. I didn’t use any black paint.
Amsterdam white acrylics for the stars (splattered with a toothbrush), some snow on the mountains and some highlights in the northern lights.
Prisma Premier soft core pencils for some details and finishing touch.
White gel pens for some highlights.
Pigma ink brush pen for some black details on Yava.
Staedtler pigment liner (size 1-3) for the outlines on Stian and Yava.
