Makes me want a wall in my house painted like this Imagining creepy beings coming through the wall at night, like some fairy tale. Also reminds me of 'Where the Wild Things Are'
Love it!

Hmmm... i like the idea but i think it would freak me out to have a forest painted on the walls...

the surrealities that i alone knew were discovered in the most unsuspecting of places,
cropping up behind familiar doorways and hidden in drawers i'd use every day.
latches and knobs to new worlds would appear on walls, ceilings and other surfaces,
each one teasing me with entire worlds of experience which i must now deny were real.
it would be unlike me to fear a forest should it recede from the wall of my sitting-room,
even if it were laced with what must otherwise be an undeniably foreboding shade

for this is my home.

it's neat that you find my works so inspiring! certainly sounds like a caption for the piece.

This is unusual. At first I didn't like the big, dark area at the bottom but it does work compositionally. It just seem like you ran out of ideas or had an excess of black paint to use up. I do like it though. Fav.

i really did run out of ideas when it came to the floor. but i decided that instead of overworking it and making too busy i'd let it go, and i rather like it that way. it's exceptionally hard to photograph, the floor is not actually black, it's a deep blue-green.

I think you need a better photo of this. It really is deeply surreal - if that makes any sense.

i think that's as good a photo as i can get, i had it professionally done. i think that's the pro version. it's very dark and low contrast, so hard to shoot.

I'm in awe. I don't understand how you could paint it so realisticly. I live by a forest also, and it's not that dark either, but i love it It really does make me think of dreams I've had. Nice work.

There's something disturbing about this. I don't know why, but I wouldn't want to sit on that couch myself. I live in a forest and round here they look much more open. That one looks so enclosed and dark, I'd hate to wonder what creatures would slither out. Then again its like a backdrop with a couch in front but still it creates an illusion as though there is a never-ending forest leaping out behind it. Wonderfully done, although it would be cool if the couch were bigger or if there was some small detail on the carpet that would draw my eye to it. Just my opinion though, perhaps it works this way as it helps it look somewhat uninviting in my opinion.

yeah i grew up in a forested area, and they didn't look that foreboding there either, but that's the beauty of artistic liscence. i had painted a pattern over the rug and it was too much, so i took it out, but i am still not sure about the floor. i liked the color.

Yes I like the floor colour too hehe. A very oceany colour actually, which seems pretty strange. That's the beauty of surrealism.
