Very much like the old-school D&D gynosphinx, with a love of knowledge, and a lack on anyone on it's level to talk to. I always imagined them wearing librarian type glasses; perhaps they commissioned them from Gnomes in exchange for sage advice! After all, who gave this one a tattoo? They can't eat *every* humanoid they come across!

Maybe they get other mythical beasts with fingers to put in earrings and such! I have seen my cats do some pretty confounding things with their paws, but who knows.... It's MAAAAGGGICCC!

I absolutely love this picture. I think I may even use it as the picture for one of my characters I'm writing about. your art is absolutely breathtaking. <3

Harpies love Sphinxes, but are too intimidated to get too close to them. They adore them though...from a distance.

Very cool, especially since it seems like S never gets a fun creature!

I remember as a kid it was always like the plant salvia or something, or a salamander, but not a nifty fire kind, or even a medieval heraldry kind, just a spotty cartoony guy. One of the stores had glowy letters I'd wanted so badly but hated the ones for my initials

Ah!, yeah, I know what you mean. I also hated those premade signs with your name on them-- they always spelled mine "Robyn" because apparently that's how girls are SUPPOSED to spell it. Maybe that's why I don't use Robin any more.

I've known people who spelled it each way. And a male prof with that name who hated people assuming he was a she

strangely, when I chose a pen name I took "Felix" which is really a guy's name, so I must enjoy the ambiguity.

It's a good name with a good meaning though. That helps. And ambiguity is a hallmark of the internet.
