Description A while back already, a month or two ago, I painted all my current little ESO babies in the first outfit that I liked on them For Zin, this is one of the first rewards that I received in some quest or the other in a generic style I could re-craft any day, but it was still nice. For Lokra, it was the Seadrake Disguise which I remember to be way sexier from the beta but still dig it in its current form (and is STILL wearing it after many months!) With Egil, this vest is a bit of special case. I found it as random loot on maybe my first day of gameplay and it was level 2 - I deconstructed it soon afterwards, not realizing how special it was for its style. I spent months looking for a similar piece, only realizing it later that this is a Soul-Shriven fashion style, probably appeared in random loot by accident. Now the design is available for real money in the store, but it cannot be dyed. Also, I refuse to draw these absolutely ridiculous and useless sideflops that taint every single armor design (some of which would otherwise look fairly good) floating inches away from every character's waist. I don't understand who has a fetish for these side-flops in the design team, but they should be fired. Oh! And while we are at it, whip out your notepads ESO, and LEARN from Wildstar how character fashion should be handled.

Brushes credit. Unfortunately I don't remember anymore which ones I used, but they all come from my DA collection.

I don't really have these characters worked out THAT well, as I kinda let them be shaped by the story also, but I thought I would write a bite-sized backstory bit for each of them for some flavor, even if they might receive some fine-tuning in the future.

Egil Órvendr (born Egil Raudknutsson) - Hails from Solstheim as the son of a warrior mother and a merchant father. He was meant to become a warrior himself, but a very unfortunate fall during training plummeted his carreer to an abrupt end. He suffered a severe vertebral injury, from which he has mostly recovered and is now capable of leading a rather average life under some medical supervision. He completed his education in the peaceful/diplomatic branch instead, and made himself a name running diplomatic business-related errands for House Hlaalu. The contacts he has made helped him establish a tailoring business on his own. He puts his old bowman skills to use in hunting; he collects some of the finest pelts himself for his craft, even though neither tailoring nor bow use is kind to his sore back. Healers don't really like him for this reason, but it's generally true of him that he can be stubborn in his own gentle ways. Tailoring aside, his real passion is actually cooking; and his secret desire is to become a famous gourmet. He joined arms with the humble but masterful (and partly thanks to Egil, now fairly famous) chef Vorendyl, under whom he is learning as an apprentice in his free time. One of his undiscovered talents is him being a supertaster of a high sort, and at this point it is just as unknown how to make him stop talking about flavours, ingredients, textures and portions. He is chatty (especially about his passions), happy-go-lucky, dangerously curious, and naive to a fault. His companion pet is a mudcrab that started unexplicably following him on the day he washed up on the shore of Bleakrock, and though at first he was baffled, now he would not part with it under any circumstances.

Lokra gra-Urdul
- In her youth, she distinguised herself in the traditional art of smithing so well, she received a marriage proposal from the chief of Bethnikh for the position of a forge-wife, to which she said yes. However, suddenly being shocked by responsibilities and the bridle of traditions, she escaped on a ship in nothing but her bridal garment before the ceremony, leaving behind an unwashable stigma of shame and a broken heart. (She already existed in the beta and I found out only a year later there is an NPC called Lokra on Bethnikh. Now I cannot resist the headcanon that the chief named her daughter after the first love of his life...) She has since generally tried to avoid Orcish societies for the unspeakable shame to her name, and spent the in-between decades travelling all of Tamriel and taking jobs wherever she could grab hold of one, mostly on the sea, with each adventure adding a stroke to the map of illustrations that now covers nearly her entire body. Somewhere along these travels, she made friends with a likely adventurous warrior called Shaani, and the two formed a friendship that has been ongoing for many years. Lokra is now at the time of her life that she has a secret desire to settle down, or at least find someone to share adventures with, and has a slight regret eloping with the true love of her life - herself. She is wild, outspoken and self-centered, but actually would do anything for the ones she loves, and is extremely caring for them. She is currently working as an art trader, relieving rich persons of their burden of possessing priceless beautiful artworks, and passing them on to other people for a fee as humble as she herself is - not in the slightest. She genuinely appreciates fine art and is a skilled musician for being self-taught. She is accompanied by an exceptionally well-crafted violin, a smaller artifact in its own right, which she, instead of letting it gather dust in some Breton noble's home, puts regularly to use. She has a long-time friend in a monkey called Sweetroll, who is a highly intelligent and well-trained animal, sometimes aiding an unsuspected hand in those endeavors which require objects to be snatched away unseen.

Zindra-jo (formerly, and still nicknamed as, Zin) - They originally come from a small Khajiiti village deep in the heart of a thick Elsweyrian jungle. Their life was set into motion with the approach of the Khanaten Flu - being sent out to seek help for the disease, they have met paths with a powerful healer who saw the hidden talent in the child Khajiit and set them on the course of high education. Today Zin is fairly skilled in all things magic, and their desire is to seek knowledge whenever to be found, sharing the journey of learning with other minds. Their currently only apprentice is the young and cheery Bosmer Linziria, who learns enchanting from Zin and sometimes helps the Khajiit set their feet on the ground when they get their head too high stuck in Aetherius regarding philosophical matters. Zin is highly acceptive of others and always open to other people's perspectives, as their philosophy is rooted deeply in the belief of balance, and that every living thing must have its own way to course through that cannot be violently disturbed. Zin is also deeply devoted to Khenarthi's worship and generally lives their life in deep spirituality, inwardness and religious practices, as to them these things are one and the same. Their needs are always humble, and partly for philosophical reasons they do not let themselves be anchored down in the world by such a thing as a secret passion or wish, but their general driving force is in life is their thirst for a higher understanding as well as a deliciously prepared, preferably unsweetened fine tea.

I love them, they're so cute, and I thoroughly enjoyed their backstories too. It's great seeing others who put thought into their ESO characters.

I peeped into your gallery in hopes of ESO art and was not at all disappointed! Is it me or you have improved a tremendous lot? Even though your art was pretty nifty to begin with, of course!
To imagine my characters having a personality and a life of their own, this is totally the stuff of inspiration to me. Thank you for reading and loving.
I would gladly invite you to pick up contact in ESO as well, though I have been on a long hiatus for some time due to personal busy-ness, and my characters are still all under veteran level. But if you're interested in hanging out someday, you can drop me a note!

Oh and I forgot to mention: you may be pleased to learn that Egil could regain his signature look because Soul-Shriven gear has been made craftable now, provided you've completed Cadwell's Silver (something to aim for, perhaps? )

Eee thank you! I like to think I've improved, I try to do so at any rate. I'm happy you think so! And I'm the same, I make up far too elaborate backstories for my characters but hey, I like it, it's the fun of RPGs. As for that...I am a huge altaholic, I have two accounts one of which is full on both EU and NA servers, and obviously not everyone is VR level so we may be able to work something out. I'll shoot you a note!

There is nothing wrong with an elaborate backstory I say Re: the soul shriven gear, are you kidding me this is the BEST news I have heard all week!
Definitely life goals lol, I just need to get my language exam out of the way first!
