When I change "ztranslate" on step 5 to 1.694 it results of blank image.

I thought so too. But you have to zoom out a bit because it moved it.

Frustrating when there are obvious steps missing. I tried this twice and so have two of my friends, Thanks for pretending to share how to do this and wasting our time

How on earth did you get those absolutely fantastic flower pots (third and 4th pictures of the tutorial)? I have searched and searched, but could not find anything with parameters like them. Please send me the parameters of just this part. I have a site here on DA (pamelamc). These are truly unique and beautiful. Thanks.

I cannot get anything whatsoever like the images above. All I end up with are spheres in a fuzzy field. Can you help, please?
Thanks.

fengda2870 In reply to LadyLyonnesse [2013-01-22 08:01:42 +0000 UTC]

not the build-in variation spherical

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

fengda2870 In reply to LadyLyonnesse [2013-01-22 08:01:15 +0000 UTC]

You need the spherical3D Variations

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LadyLyonnesse In reply to fengda2870 [2013-01-22 19:30:19 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that is the variation I used. I have been using apo for 7 years, and I do know the different variables that are available.
Once I get to the section in the tutorial where the ztranslate on T4 is set to 1.694, I don't have 'flowers'; I have spheres.

I got the same thing, LOL! Pretty but not what I'm after! At this point, still being kind of a n00b, I'm not too fussed over it. But why only spheres with floral thingies inside them...?

Thanks for a lovely tutorial. I've got [link] after a few goes at getting the tutorial settings right.

I used Apo 7X 15c-9 to get my image, so it is possible with a more up to date version. See my comment on my image as this may be where some people have gone wrong (like me). If they need the spherical3D plugin it is in the Aposhack Plugin Pack at [link]

thanks again Stebev

fengda2870 In reply to stebev [2012-07-22 09:47:52 +0000 UTC]

you should modify it , the image color looks a little chaos.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

stebev In reply to fengda2870 [2012-07-22 09:51:21 +0000 UTC]

No offence, but the idea was to get a variation in colour. Not all images need to be uniform. Different people like different things, a little chaos does none of us any harm

jim88bro [2012-06-20 13:11:35 +0000 UTC]

Step 3 ????? You say duplicate T2 which already has the O coordinates set to 1,120 from the previous step and you then say set the O coordinates to 1,120.....again? You'll have to explain to me how to do that!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fengda2870 In reply to jim88bro [2012-06-21 03:53:04 +0000 UTC]

use "polar(deg)"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jim88bro In reply to fengda2870 [2012-06-21 15:28:39 +0000 UTC]

I clicked polar(deg)in T1 and duplicated it so it is already clicked in T2, so I set the 0 coordinates to 1,120 and duplicate that and polar(deg) is already clicked again and the 1,120 coordinates are there also. Something is not explained to my understanding here.

fengda2870 In reply to jim88bro [2012-06-23 07:50:42 +0000 UTC]

do you have other question?
They coordinate value are
T1 1 0
T2 1 120
T3 1 -120

I've just used Apo 15C and after a few goes got it right, see my image comment and see if you did what I did to get it wrong. As I was OK till step 5. See [link]
