Just because Dragonite never ever seemed right.I didn't want to go overboard with this, as is my habit, so I tried to follow a pattern from the Dratini-Dragonair bit: longer, slimmer, MORE SHINY BALL THINGS.
I also tried not to make it look exactly like every other fan evolution of Dragonair ever while I was at it, hopefully it worked.

This... This SO MUCH. I love Dragonite, but I feel he should become a stand alone Pokemon, and this should be Dragonair's evolution. I just loved Dragonair's elegance and beauty, and then along comes Dragonite, and it loses it's beauty, elegance and charm, and becomes a huge, somewhat fat, orange dragon (though a rather awesome one...). I NEVER understood how they thought it made any sense.
The thing I like most about your evolution is that it remains a serpent (no arms thanks!!). That's part of the beauty of Dragonair after all. I like that you kept it simple too, as that was another reason I loved Dragonair so much. And you added just enough detail and character to your evolution to give it distinction.
