The edgelord is back...and just take a look at all that anger from my highschool years, it's glorious.
A product of it's time that it's still one of my favorite pages, with decent action and some interesting proposals, especially in the dynamics in the panels themselves; I was actually quite surprised to see how creative it still felt even before editing. Among the changes, the explosion stands out as it was too small and little centered on the original, as well as the always present anatomical errors, annoying dialogues and certain...extra details. In general, I wanted to try getting a little closer to that cartoon exaggeration that I still could not fully achieve in the original version.
It oozes with teen angst, but I think that's exactly why I have a fondness towards it. We can't be so harsh towards older version of ourselves all the time.

The way you used you anger to depict Flippy is actually appropriate for Flippy as a character.
Flippy is a result of anger and fear of the past, trying to move on but struggling with what he can never let go of. Even though everything is in his head, the reality is that everything he hears and sees is all because of what he experienced in reality. I just feel like all of that mirrors what you did with artwork depicting Flippy.
It’s interesting that you brought your angst when commenting on this, when this is that very page that many HTF fans came to see (let alone Flippy fans) and by default making it iconic. But the fact is there was so much thought put into it based on what you were experiencing yourself. It’s much deeper than what one might imagine.

This version of Flippy differs from the original in many aspects, but on a more metaphorical level, that's still the same reasoning behind his evil side.
SL was made about a year after I finished highschool, but it took much more than that to get rid of all that fear and stress that was still very fresh in my memory. It's been a bumpy ride and I'm quite sure I still haven't got rid of all of it, but at least I'm very happy to know I'm back to be the sensitive and mostly happy child I was from the start. She had to keep herself hidden during that time among the pressures of a sick society, but she was never truly lost. I've leared a lot of things among the way and realized how much better life becomes when you can just be yourself.

Maybe because it was less exaggerated on the original, but I have a feeling it could have been even worse back then, if it wasn't because I didn't have the skill yet
I was just getting out of some very hard times back then, I never shared much of my vent art...but yeah, this could be a small glimpse of it.
