Bic penComputer Paper
Coloured on Pshop
Hmm well. I did this drawing in the dark with a candle. Probably not a good idea to keep this up as it's not good on the eyes.
It's a drawing experiment using another medium of introspection to work with. In this case, I attempted to do a 'scrying' onto a fresh page. Without the divination tools, reflective surfaces like a mirror or a bowl of water etc.
The dim lighting acts as a catalyst as it helps to narrow down your focus, blocking out everything else in the background that might otherwise be distracting.
Begin drawing by observing the light flickering onto the page as it gives off subtle suggestions of shapes and shadows. The texture of the paper helps, the bumps of the surface area, and the shadows animating from your hand or even the pencil helps to amplify these subtle impressions.
Eventually it felt like I was merely tracing off these shapes and shadows for the most part with free reign on other parts.

Yeah it's a lot of fun when it works! Someone mentioned it to me before, that what I've discovered is actually "Paraeidolia". Google it up! It's pretty much the same thing.

Huh, that's certainly a very strange way to approach a drawing. May have to try it out, assuming my eyes don't bleed due to lack of light, haha.
Lovely designs.

Thanks man. That's the consequence of drawing and a desire to get better. Experimenting is good whenever you get stuck!

You must be aware of the Zeitgeist Movement or the film "what the bleep do we know?"
Right?

Nope, never heard of those movies, or at least I don't remember seeing them.
I just wiki'ed up "What the bleep do we know?". It sounds interesting and something that I'd definitely watch. Maybe something along the likes of "Waking Life".
As for Zeitgeist Movement, I've bookmarked that site for future reading.
Thanks for bringing these up!

Well I'm not really worried about the hits thing. It'll come around to it eventually with more postings though. It's still early in development and my stuff/style hasn't really matured yet.
I like to think that it's low right now because I'm not 'ready' for it yet. Soon I will be!
We'll see. Thanks for the love!
