IMPORTANT: I did not make this. It is a commission I asked, permissible to post at my discretion.Tails and Fluttershy talk about how they haven't done much in their recent depictions. Tails being helpless or emotionally broken in Sonic Forces. Fluttershy not doing much to contribute to the story plot of the MLP Movie.

Tails has been useless since 06...or shadow's game even, so this doesn't bother me...then again I barely cared for Tails so...

Not counting Sonic 4 part 2 and Mania, Tails hasn't been playable lately. It's usually Sonic first over others, which doesn't sit well with me. I'm always in favor of giving other characters a chance to shine and be playable instead of focusing on just the main star like Mario.

To be fair, the last time Tails was capable of himself (and playable for that matter) was in Sonic 06, but because of everyone's tiresome undying hate-boner for that game, no one's going to credit him for it.
FTR, I don't count Boom Tails because that's a spin-off that can fuck off and die.

It’s been too long since I tried out Sonic 06 with their agonizing loading screens and death by glitches. Right off the bat, I could only remember bits of Shadow and Melphiles.
Didn’t bother with the Boom games. Sticks and the cartoon were fun though. Really didn’t like how Shadow was portrayed.

In the game's defense, Sonic 06 was the last time Sonic and his friends were portrayed decently until SEGA's endless crusade to demage-control it because fans won't shut up about it was what began ruining everyone else's personalities.
The cartoon is what I hate the most about it. If it's not the insulting "Sonic's-fandom-sucks" jokes that are splurged all over it, it's writing and characterization makes the show look like Teen Titans Go but with Furries.

Honestly, I thought that Tails had already become a capable fighter before SA. I mean, its not cannon, but you CAN play through Sonic 2/3&Knuckles with him.

No one really talks in Classics, so we didn't know much of their character and personalities. It was mostly Sonic and Tails saving animals, Knuckles being a gullible guardian, and Eggman being an evil scientist.

If I were you, Sonic Forces would've been a decent story if it weren't for the many plot holes and poor excuses for it being tied into Sonic Mania. (Both games involve the Phantom Ruby)
As for the MLP movie? Well... as I have not yet watched it; it could use some rewriting.

They changed Classic Sonic from being the 'past' to simply 'another dimension.' Even though they had Shadow playable, I am not eager to replay Forces compared to Shadow's game (love it!).
Rewriting? Hmm, maybe Fluttershy interacting with the new characters more often. That would in return bring in more help than a few allies brought in to fight the Storm King's army in the movie.

To be fair, both were announced on Sonic's 25th anniversary, so there has to be flimsy excuse to have both games tied together.
Exactly. She hardly had any interaction with the Mane Six's new allies and it would make sense to have at least each of them introduce themselves to them. ^^

Yeah, Tails got screwed in the newer games, being an NPC. I blame the Sonic fanbase for it, since they keep whining about wanting Sonic as the only playable character.

Fandoms are often a target of scapegoat for whatever's wrong in a franchise. It's becoming redundant. I personally blame critics for panning decent presentations. Particularly, for the Sonic side, when they tend to have bias in favor of Classic or Sonic-only games.

Yeah, I'm disappointed for them and for Luigi being left out of "Super Mario Odyssey." At least another favorite of mine, Derpy got to be a hero in the MLP movie.

Actually worse, not even being player 2 with Tails being pushed aside for the Wisps and Classic Sonic as the main sidekicks (Don't get me wrong, I love "Sonic Colors" and "Sonic Generations", they're still good games) and Luigi being completely replaced by Cappy (Again don't get me wrong, "Super Mario Odyssey" does look like a fun game and I look forward to playing it whenever I get a Switch, I just hate that Luigi isn't in it since he's my favorite character of the Mario series.)

If it weren't for Shadow, and maybe Blaze, Tails would've been my #1 favorite character.
About 5 years before SA2, I did play Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on a Genesis at someone's house. There my sister would be the player one for Sonic; player two for me as Tails.

Nice. I always did like Tails quite a bit, although I think a few small tweaks would make him even better. As of right now my favorite Sonic characters are:
#1 SHADOW (obviously)
#2 Tails and Blaze tied
#3 Metal Sonic (yep, best robot there ever was, is, or will be)
#4 Sonic and Eggman (oh how torturous it is for them to occupy the same spot) Dignity

1) Shadow (obviously)
2) I'll have to say Blaze. Truth be told, before getting into ShadTwi, I didn't care about ships in general. I was, "who cares if Goku is officially paired with Chichi and not Bulma?" Not a really good example because this pairing occurred long before the internet became more advanced with Google. If I did get into Sonic ships, Shadaze (Shadow X Blaze) would be my interest. You could say that ShadTwi is an alternate expression for Shadaze. XD
3) Any Sonic villain, ranging from Eggman, Metal Sonic, Black Doom, Mephiles, Infinite, etc.
4) Tails.
So there you have it. Not including the villains, Tails would've been my #1 hero of the Sonic universe if Shadow and Blaze weren't around.

My biggest reaction is to your support of Shadaze, DEFINITLY MY FAVORITE ALL SONIC UNIVERSE SHIP!!! In fact I would have to say its really up there with Shadtwi, sometimes tied and sometimes even #1. So yep, huge shadaze fan.
Metal Sonic takes it as my favorite Sonic villain, easily. Eggman's a classic and cant NOT be in the top 3 favorite villains, hes the one that started it all. But Metal is just a really interesting concept to play around with in my head, the rebellious robot that can keep up with Sonic. I cant help but think about Eggman mass producing copies...
As a side note for you DBZ comment, Bulma's been around much longer so I can see why many people think that. Personally I prefer Bulma over Chichi in every way so of course I think it would be more interesting if she where with goku.

I have a lot of ideas for Metal Sonic. Rather than just rocket boosts, black shield, and electricity, why not give him sharp claws and laser eyes? Sure he has a chest laser by now, but I've always imagined his eyes shoot lasers.
If DBZ were made by now, we'd have shipping fans crying for Goku X Bulma. DBZ started in Japan in 1990 with Dragon Ball already finished with Goku marrying Chichi.

I know Hasbro was trying to play it safe and all but what bugs me the most is that not only did Fluttershy done nothing in the movie, SHE WAS AFRAID OF A CAGE ANIMAL!! She takes care of animals and isn’t scared of creatures that small!! Hasbro! Dude! Get Fluttershy right!

Writers do change for each episode and special medium, where new ones didn't pay much attention to previous work. Hence the character inconsistency.

(For the record, the Japanese Script for Forces does not mention either Sonic being "dead" or Tails "losing it". They are simply considered captured and AWOL, respectively. Of course SEGA would give the Western version the awful version of an already awful script.)

Well, in Sonic Forces, Tails witnessed Sonic being beat and "died", which made him losing his morale boost - going crazy and losing the hope, stuffs like that. As in Sonic Adventure, Tails haven't see or hear that Sonic got his ass whipped. Neither did he actually see Sonic's body part float in the space in Sonic Adventure 2. But yes, Tails have see Sonic launch into the space and went kaboomed, only to "FAKE CHAOS CONTROL" his ass back to the station next to Knuckles just as the capsule blew up. Then Sonic went and kicked Shadow's ass while Tails put his faith in himself to kick Eggman's. And suddenly, the cannon of ARK decided to blow up in the failure.
But in Sonic Forces, Sonic got his ass handed to him and collapsed on the road in front of Tails. That's whole different story. As for Fluttershy, someone just wanted her off the game and shoved into the sideline to keep her character in the date, being a shy pony and all that shit.
