WARNING FOR SANDING: Don't breathe in the dust!
Either moisten the sandpaper or wear protection gear.
A bandana properly covering your nose and mouth should do.
The dust can be dangerous for your lungs.

Edit: Sorry, I can't find the time to work on part 2. Simple version:
1. Either paint the sculpture white or spray it with white acrylic spray paint. Don't breathe it in!
2. let the base coat dry.
3. Start painting it using acrylic paints. Start with bigger areas.
4. For really small details, use a fairly small brush.
5. Seal it with spray finish or paint-on finish after it dried.

Nice I love this... I've been trying to get some of my ideas into cast-able silicon, but I think I'm afraid to start! i have 8 inch tall bases in Air-hardened clay to us as a master model (to reduce them down to 2 inch).

This is amazing. It is extremely helpful. I'm currently making customs from brushable ponies, but I'd love to work my way up to this. And also - this answers tons of random questions and problems I've had. I do have one question though - When I used wire without tape, it cut through the clay. Will that problem go away if I use tape? Because when I was making a Fluttershy gala dress the top of the dress I had propped on wire and twenty minutes later I had to repair a hole the arch of the wire had cut in it from the clay sinking. I hadn't even thought of tape though. Thanks for creating this!

I'm not sure about your question though. You will have to try it! To be honest, I am a beginner myself.

Sure!
is it safe to bake in you kitchen oven and not harm food when you use it later?
are the fumes while baking dangerous to pets and humans?
Can i bake polymer clay in a toaster oven?
do you think i could bake the clay in a toaster oven outside so the smell and fumes aren't in the house?
what clay would you recommend the most to use?
Thank you if you can answer these!!

[link] This might help with the first three.
I recommend Super Sculpey (Duh) and Fimo for oven bake, and Apoxie Sculpt for air drying clay.

Great tutorial, however, DO NOT use the dry method when sanding polymer clay. There are countless warnings on the web, including Sculpey's homepage (Polyform Products), that warn against inhaling the polymer dust that accompanies dry sanding.
Instead purchase sand paper that can be used with water...it should say 'wet/dry' on the package. Wet the polymer clay and the sand paper. The awesome part is, you will find it easier to sand the polymer clay while it is damp, and you won't have to worry about inhaling that nasty dust. Also, it would not hurt to wear a dust mask, the same as you would for sanding wood.
Awesome tutorial, but I just want you to be safe and healthy.

I duno if anyone mentioned this before but the tool that you said was your favorite is a nail care tool like you said, a metal cuticle pusher, they come in very cheap manicure sets if anyone needed to find one.
