WARNING FOR SANDING: Don't breathe in the dust!
Either moisten the sandpaper or wear protection gear.
A bandana properly covering your nose and mouth should do.
The dust can be dangerous for your lungs.
__
Edit: Sorry, I can't find the time to work on part 2. Simple version:
1. Either paint the sculpture white or spray it with white acrylic spray paint. Don't breathe it in!
2. let the base coat dry.
3. Start painting it using acrylic paints. Start with bigger areas.
4. For really small details, use a fairly small brush.
5. Seal it with spray finish or paint-on finish after it dried.

Keine Ahnung, ehrlichgesagt. Magisches Zeugs!

Just about the same pipeline I use except I use aluminum foil on top of the wire-skelton

I used aluminium foil when i started, but I had problems with pieces of it falling off all the time. :'D

Yeah, that happens sometimes indeed, but I pack it real hard and then I "glue" it with small pieces of sculpey
Intresting to see that you ovened the body and then made the head, I've never tried ovening the half-made sculpt, always though it might burn the second time around...

This tutorial is so super helpful I've been asked to do some sculpting, but had no idea how to really go about doing it, so thank you!
Oh, I do have a question though; will this process work just as well with the likes of Fimo and such, do you know? Just wondering, cos if it does that'll save me some money given i have a ton of fimo already
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Feyrah In reply to Morbubble [2012-03-09 19:06:27 +0000 UTC]
I do believe it will work just the same! Of yourse, adjust the baking time and temperature to what Fimo requires. Is there any certain step of thw process you're wondering about how it works with fimo?
If you are going to use colored fimo with no painting, I don't believe if sanding works. It will scratch (duh) the surface. But if you will paint the figure anyway, I believe you can sand to your liking!

Awesome No, I don't think so, that's all I wanted to check. I thought it would probably be alright, but figured it's best to make sure. Ah, ok, that's a fair point abou the sanding; I'll bear that in mind! Thank you once again

Feyrah In reply to Zuckerluchs [2012-03-09 19:08:51 +0000 UTC]
