There! After helping my family sort through some personal issues and in between my obligatory job searching sessions, I finally got around to finishing this last night... at 1 in the morning. I'd say I may take a short break from posting to take care of the rest of the stuff, but well, you know how I am when it comes to that matter, I guess .

So I decided to make the color study for ol' Crabby over the lineart I put on the sketchbook, since I wanted to get the color scheme down before I set to work on the profile itself, which will be done in full glory on a separate sheet of paper. For this version I decided to challenge my mouse hand and though I kept his color scheme blue with some purples and reds (got rid of the yellow because it looked tacky and I already have another main team member with yellow as part of his color scheme), I used a practical rainbow of colors for the coral because I wanted it to look as though he picked up a lot of different varieties to decorate his armor.
It also helps that coconut crabs (and other terrestrial hermit crabs) actually do have blue color variants in some species. I specifically based the color scheme of the lower crab half off of this lovely fella: www.svquest.com/Suwarrow2006/I…
