Just a fun error message, figure Filan has had one for awhile so I made Erein one finally. hes in a bit of trouble and stranded on Earth.Related content

"Hmm Okay then, And well unless being 80ft tall is threatening but do not worry its not like I will try and munch on anybody or something crazy like that. Giants only do that in fantasy books anyway.. Or at least I think its only fantasy books, considering I have never met anybody giant sized yet, And until today I had never met anybody tiny either." He replied and kept observing the crowds and the movements of the other mages, He found this place rather unique and relaxing. He would have to make note to buy up that remote retreat in the hills when he got back, provided it was on the market still and if he even got home. "So I do have to ask, What happens if I cannot get picked up? I am guessing I am either stuck in my tent or I will have to somehow fit in on this world?"

"No, that's just fantasy," Ronan agreed with a slight chuckle.
"Common story theme among sanheichi, though," Liekki said softly. "Anyway, if you do end up stranded here, Ronan can shrink you again. I'm sure you'd fit in fine."

"Hmm well if they can send me more stuff by portal... I will have to have them find a way to replicate your shrinking and then send my anti-grav. I mean its not too indifferent than a flying car really and that must be common." He replied with a shrug thinking if a bunch of people his size figured out than these seemingly clever magic humans could do it too. "But I doubt I will be forever stuck here. Besides I would not know what to do for a job here unless I could find a way to sell portals, Just imagine being able to go between cities like stepping through a door. Best of all as far as people here would know it would be technological because that is what my research is. mixing the technical with the arcane."

Liekki shook his head. "Ah, no. Flying cars are not common, and portals would still freak sanheichi out quite a bit. Most magic does."

Erein nodded and sighed a bit. "Ahh well would just have to hide them in technology. Everybody trusts technology and well I also know of more than a few things that do not involve magic. Anti-gravity systems use magnets" He replied and knew that even the antigrav tech alone would make him rather well off on this world if he had to live here and make money. "Any way maybe its best if I go back to your size and we continue to see your sanctuary and this Earth."

Ronan nodded. "You ready to shrink again?" he asked, raising his wand.

"Yes I think I should go back to a more normal size. Less public relations issues and they do not make a broom in this size.". He paused a moment and chuckled. "Besides imagine the collateral damage if I fell off a broom at this size.."

"Fair point," Ronan said. "Hold still." And he did the same spell as before, and the giant mage promptly began to shrink again.

Once again Erein found himself human sized and of course found it just as strange as before. Being small was going to take getting used to. "So I guess I will need to do some culture study so I do not reference things from my world or worse technology."

The boys landed on the ground in front of Erein again. "We could take you to a library," Liekki suggested. "Plenty of info there. Or, if you decide to just stay in magical communities and not go out among the sanheichi, then you wouldn't really have to worry much about letting something slip."
Ronan nodded. "Much of the magical world is pretty accepting of other cultures, and I'm sure they wouldn't have too big an issue with a giant alien who's been shrunk to human size."

"No I think I will have to get out into the world, Sticking around here in the magic realm just does not suit me well. I need to do something productive while here." He replied back and got onto the broom again. Now at his small size he could again ride it though slowly as to not run into anything. "But I would like to visit this library to learn more of Earth and the magic you use. It seems quite a bit different from our own." he added and started to float a bit to get used to balancing on this thing, Erein was still having issues figuring out how this whole broom thing worked as he found no Anti-Grav units on them.

"There isn't a lot of magic in the library," Ronan said, sounding a bit disappointed by the fact. "It's usually passed on by word of mouth and things like that."
"You can find out a lot about nonmagical history, though," Liekki put in. "And we can try to teach you what we know, probably." Turning to Ronan, he added, "Think we should find Anabelle? I'm sure she'd be interested, and willing to help out."

"Well non magical history is even better, If I am going to be out there than I need to get an idea of how the world works for those who cannot rip a hole in space time or pitch a tent that is bigger on the inside." He replied back and smiled while making lazy circles around the pair just to keep practicing on his flying. Erein figured this would be the primary method of transit in the magic realms, That is once he earned a key to this place something he doubted they would just give him. "I just hope the exploration fleet thinks its worth risking first contact.. Though I can imagine the people outside this place will freak out when a bunch of giant space mages arrive in a space ship the size of s small city." He commented with a bit of a chuckle. Not that many actual magic users went on the explorer ship but enough did to help with diplomacy... But that was still months away. "Hmm who is Anabelle?"

"You don't remember us mentioning Annabelle?" Ronan asked. "She's our sorceress friend."
"And we already told you, your exploration group can't make contact with anyone outside of the magical community! People would freak out!" Liekki added.

"Ahh true let's go meet her". He replied and ponder what this lady would be like. He could tell she would be smart and nice from how the two described her though. "I will remind the explorer ship crew to use the cloaking field."

"That should help..." Liekki said, a bit grudgingly. "Tell them not to go into any cities either, okay?"

"Okay I will do that the next time we have communications. Kinda sad is all, They would have loved to make first contact with another world." He commented even though he also did agree they were right, If humans were that jittery it could end badly for his people and theirs. While he knew his people would not attack and would just run if the humans attacked them, It would still not leave a good mark for future contact. "I guess we should get on with the tour then, And meet your friend to help me learn more of this place."

"Well, unfortunately, the majority of Earth isn't ready to meet alien life," Liekki said, a bit sadly. "I wish that it wasn't like that, but a meeting would likely only end badly. People from other planets are generally viewed as enemies in all the stories."

"Ahh that is sad, but I can imagine why. I gather you have a few nuts who also doubt life could happen anywhere else. We used to have those, Society eventually shunned that thinking away.". He then paused for a moment and smiled. "This hidden magic area, Maybe they could leave a beacon here allowing portals between our worlds without errant power issues. Beacons allow locations to be linked with ease".

The boys exchanged a look, and Liekki shrugged. Ronan, however, shook his head. "I don't think that would work too well," he said. "The only way here is through one of those doors, like we brought you."

"Hmm that would not be good then I guess, The power needed to punch through would likely cause damage to this realm. Guess they would need to stick to ships then." He smiled a bit and wondered how first contact would go or how he was going to survive on this world, Always being reduced in scale. He would have to ask this good friend of theirs how to change his size and how much it would risk his health to be shrunk. "So guys, I guess I will need to well live somewhere other than that tent I have in the woods then."

"Depends on how long you're gonna be staying here," Ronan said with a shrug. "Right Liekki?" When the fire mage didn't respond, the young wizard poked him in the side. "Leaky?"
"Huh?" Liekki shook his head, jerking his attention back. "Hang on, I think I saw someone we know..." he said, starting to wander off.

Erein started to follow and sighed a bit. "Only as long as I need to, So far the world seems nice but I do have a home planet of my own as well. " The shrunkin giant did not know exactly what to do here, Should he stay or should he follow. So he followed and figured he should meet this person they know. Erein was a bit worried how the people here would react to the truth that life was out there, And the first visitor here was a giant magic user at that. Though he could at least let them feel good that his world had combined magic and technology rather than the two being at odds.

*Erein awakes and rubs his head a bit, While it was a natural ability for him at this point in life the ability to portal between worlds was always rough when testing new projection crystals. And now he found himself on a world that based on the trees harbored smaller beings.* "How strange, But I doubt intelligent life could be as small as what would be a bipedal species would have to be here." *Now it was only rough estimate but he figured based on the trees anything with a similar build to his own species would fit in his hand with ease.*

I hide and watch him wondering what a giant like him is doing out in the woods overnight "whats a giant like him doing in a think woods like this?"

Erein stands up and stretches and starts to look around the forest. The first thing he notices is that he is in fact taller than some of the trees. The mage remembered a power surge from the teleportation and remembered the night sky was wrong. "Hmm I am not on my world I can see that, these trees are too small now that I can see them.. how strange though trees under six feet in height that do not appear to be saplings." Then started his way through the forest, Hoping to find a clearing.. The nearby clearing however was a city... And from perspective of his hidden watcher he stood some eighty feet tall.

I stopped myself from pushing myself upright and stared at the humanoid creature, I could tell they where crying. Even worse I feared it was me, They where likely terrified, Which was easy to figure if I where on the other side of this equation I would be pondering too is this huge creature hungry or worse.. First effort is to attempt some minor bits of translation magic which thankfully does not glow like other more direct motions and then a test.. "Greetings, There is no need to be scared. I-I Am apparently just lost here, wherevever here is. In fact I do not think that here is even my home solar system" Naturally I pondered for a moment and popped the question. "You are not simulation or dream are you?"

"n-no i don't think i-i am" i looked at your eyes that were bigger than my head before i could not hold it any longer and fainted

I rubbed my head a bit watching the creature fall over, I knew they where not dead as I could see their chest moving. "How strange, Maybe its a defense thing. I have seen animals that play dead. But I cannot see how a creature of this format who can build cities like that one I saw would have such a defense as they certainly would not fall for it themselves." I scoop the fainted human up and move back to the rather small clearing and sit down and then give the person a few light pokes. "Hey wake up, I am not going to harm you. Though I did give the people in the town a good scare when I looked in."

My eyes started to flutter open and as my vision cleared up a bit i looked around to see you staring at me then i started to try and back up to get away from you "p-please dont hurt m-me giant!" as i was still backing up my hand slipped and i started to loose my balance and was falling to the ground below me

I quickly catch the person and buffer their fall with a bit of magic, hoping the brief flow of the catching hand does not make this more complicated than things are already. "Hey I wont hurt you, I am well as surprised as you are here. There is nobody your size where I am from. In fact I do not even know where I am." Shrugging a bit I place them on the ground so there is no risk of falling again. "Name is Erein by the way, nice to meet you."

"No problem Miss Bre, So uhm what are you? or what do your kind call yourselves? I saw more of them only not far by my stride at the edge of this forested area. Appears you built a good sized town there.. And I uhm I think I stepped on some kind of metal transport craft that was landed by a sidewalk.* I continued to watch her and ponder just what these creatures could be, they seemed intelligent at least and that should possibly help me find out what has happened. "I am sorry I am nothing impressive of course, just an average height Targallian mage who got a little off course. I cannot seem to get a portal to open again.. Say do your people have a space elevator or some kind of subspace communications facility? or even a low warp freighter I could crawl into a hitch a ride back home?"

"first off you sure like to ask questions and your on the planet earth and were humans here and we dont have your type of technology here at all sorry about that" *looks at you with big curious eyes wondering what type of creature your supposed to be* "im sorry to ask but what are you.....im sorry im just a bit curious for what you are"

"I am a scientist of sorts so I tend to ask lots of questions and then try to find the solutions. As for what I am.. I am a male targallian mage." I shrugged a bit and smiled back at her. "Only average height though, some are taller some are a bit shorter. I imagine much like your own people coming in various sizes. I should note Mage is an old archaic term, I manipulate energy with my mind and that is all." I then go on to demonstrate a bit by shooting a small stream of flame from my fingers before pulling it back just short of impacting a tree. "Simple stuff really."

"oh wow thats cool its almost like you have superpowers or something like that!" i look up at you in amazement still wondering how a lowly girl like me could have met someone like him "say are their other world or stuff like that where you come from?"

"Hmm I would not say anything too super, Others at work have such abilities as well as many others on my world. Most never exercise them because it is still easier to take a train across town than it is to learn to teleport." I replied back and smiled, Finding nothing of my abilities all that unusual. "That is the purpose of our first warp ship, To explore the stars beyond our own solar system. But seeing you I wonder if my kind are an oddity, Overly large in a smaller population. The ship launched about a week ago and they estimate about eight months to the nearby solar system." I Stop and think, What if this Earth is the neighboring world, What will they think when a ship with a bunch of people my size comes into orbit and sends down a shuttle? "We decided to send the ship out when our space telescopes spotted a world like our own, not in size as it is physically smaller than our own.. But it sits in the right place from its star to be able to support life."

"Well.. realistically we would attempt radio contact first. After all a bunch of people my size landing in a field likely would not get a diplomatic reaction unless we called ahead.". I replied back. "Considering our history we would not even consider taking over this world."

"That is kind of the same reason we would approach with caution, And why i am hoping your military does not find me. I bet I would be dragged into some lab." I sighed a bit hoping I did not insult her with that comment. "I am sure scientists here would love to know how I work. And where I draw energy from."
