its finally finished being carved! i did some more finish sanding after i took the pic, but i couldnt wait to upload it. the upper half of the wing at the top is raised above the other half. the eye is clear cast resin with blue dye. the skin of the main blade (red part) is thin, but just enough that it is strong for con use. i'm really happy with how this came out.it took around 20 hours and it's all wood. i dont mean to brag or anything, but i think this is one of the more accurate way to dawns since some dont carve the handle right with the curves and others dont have a good eye, or something. whatever.
commissions start after otakon, which is over in 14 days. i have one commission set up for a custom key, so pleease give me some orders. critiques welcome!

I enjoy the layering effect on the wings. It's a very nice touch. Upon further inspection I noticed the layering of the wings are on both sides of the blade, which is a must. I agree with you about the handle being carved improperly, but to me, the reference looks as if this pattern may be a red leather material wrapping on the handle. The eye looks very accurate in color and shape.
My concern right now is the width, It looks very thin. There is also no ripple texture on the main blade. Will you be painting that effect?

Thank you for giving a critique. I actually meant the part right above the eye, i guess i should've said hilt or something, but as for the handle, i just thought it looked solid, but to each their own. I thought it looked too wide in some places. I make sure to look at in game and already made keys if possible when i make the keyblades. And yes i will be painting the ripple effect because there really any way for me to beleive that a wing would have extra skin ripple like that. Plus it would look cleaner.
