FINALLY!!! I'VE FINISHED IT!!! I'M DONE!!!After 13 years of designs, redesigns, tweaks, ideas, etc. (Though with 3 years of additional tweaks, which technically makes it 16 years), I've finally finalized my lightsaber, Firebird!! Now I can build it!! Made to fit my hands, dual-wield, reverse/normal grip, all 7 forms of lightsaber combat, comfortable & efficient grip. (the bottom view on the original & even the remastered view is the hardest thing I've ever done; even with reference it's hard to get it to look right. Also the top & side views are deceiving; rather than three black bar grips, there are five (you can't see the other two at the top view because they're out of the line-of-sight). Also added a cutaway "interior" of the diamond white blade-holder emitter.
Any future tweaks will only just aggravate me but that doesn't mean feedback &/or criticism isn't welcome.
Lightsaber inspirations: Obi-Wan Kenobi TPM/AOTC, Anakin Skywalker AOTC/ROTS, Luke Skywalker ANH/ESB, previous Firebird lightsaber designs, Kanan Jarrus Rebels, SWTOR lightsaber hilts, Imperial Knight from the Dark Horse "Legacy" comics, Ryan Wieber's "Novus" lightsaber, & other original/custom ideas.
Lightsaber blade color, sapphire blue, is unchanged (though finalizing the shades was a pain, especially the "lighter"/"inner glow" shade closer to the white core; added a "gold alternative" blade color for a backup/copy along with a "silver alternative" blade color, which is the same color as the blade for the shoto I will design soon). Belt clip (to hang lightsaber hilt from belt) is at the tip of the diamond white dome.
Lightsabers belong to: George Lucas, Lucasfilm, Bioware, EA, & Disney.

I had to change the proportions a little but the design is all there. Hope you like it.

Hmmmm. Only thing missing is the neck from the reference sheet. Neck is there to grip it at the emitter for a two-handed grip. Otherwise, looks pretty accurate.

Having such a huge neck made it look really ugly. Β I went with aesthetics :-D

Neck isn't really that big.

Read description. It's at the very bottom (at the tip of the pommel dome, kinda like Kanan's or Luke ESB/ROTJ).

No kidding! As long as it does EXACTLY what I designed it to do, then I can FINALLY render &/or build it.
Speaking of, what does a Sapphire Blue blade look like when you make it? I've always wondered (opposed to normal blue or light blue).

I thought I had sent you an render/RBG of what a blade would look. I looked though my temp files and don't see it, it's been a while ago.
My process for the glow is built into the program I use for modeling/rendering Carrara Saberglow

Memory is bleh. Hmmm. Maybe try again? But a simpler method this time to save time?
