Description
Here is the next updated reference sheet! You probably know who he is, but if not, this is my OC Holden, another main character of mine in ‘Where the Wild Calls.’ If you like characters who are troublemakers but are actually good guys, Holden’s your guy!
I think Holden’s reference was easy to manage as there were only a couple of important things I needed to add, but anyway, here’s what you need to know.
Holden has a scar on his back. He obtained it when an owl was chasing him, and if you have read the fanfic, you will know what I’m talking about.
Scar = Ch. 7 - Epilogue
There will be other references for him within time.
Voice actor? At first, I thought of Ryan Reynolds, but I’m kind of debating on that. But I know for sure that a Canadian voice actor would definitely voice him.
Well, now here’s some info down below about Holden ^^

Name: Holden Brooks
Nickname(s): Troublemaker, Chatty Bat (Tbh, I have no idea where the nickname Chatty Bat came from, but I’m considering changing it to something else, likely something like Pretty Boy)
Species: A human who is turned Silverwing
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Description:
Human form: He has rich, tan skin, brown eyes, brown hair, and he has some muscles
Bat form: Same descriptions above, only he’s a purple bat with the same colored mane as his hair. He’s taller than Kassidy, Shade, and Marina, the same height as Chinook, but shorter than the giant bats, Orestes and Helen.
Background (I recommend not reading this if you have not read WtWC to avoid possible spoilers): Holden was born in Canada to his parents, and then one year later, he had a younger brother named Lewis. Holden’s family life was complicated growing up. His mom was a stay-at-home parent, while his dad worked as a dentist at a clinic. At one point, his mom was loving and attentive, but as time passed, she became neglectful to him and Lewis and usually just dropped him and Lewis off at their grandparents while she went out to enjoy her day, like going to parties. As a kid, Holden didn’t understand what had happened to his mom and why she suddenly changed, and neither did his little brother. His parents were constantly arguing, which usually resulted in the boys going to their paternal grandparents.
One day, when their mother decided to go to a party, the boys stayed up late so they could spend some time with her. Holden was eight at the time, while Lewis was seven. Their mother finally came home, and when they were about to approach her so they could bond with her, they noticed she seemed off. What they didn’t realize was that she was drunk. Their mother—to their surprise—started to fling hurtful words at them, like how they ruined her life and that she wished she had never given birth to them, which naturally hurt the boys. Lewis then tried to hug her and said to please not be angry with them, but their mother slapped him across the face in the blink of an eye, shocking the boys. Lewis started to cry as he held his cheek, and their mother proceeded to yell at them, which grabbed their father’s attention as he came rushing down to see what the commotion was about. He noticed a handprint on Lewis’ face, and it didn’t take him long to put two and two together. He told Holden and Lewis to go to their rooms while he stood between them and his wife to protect them. Holden and Lewis obeyed, and they heard their parents shouting and yelling at each other for the rest of the night.
Holden’s parents divorced as time passed, and his father gained full custody of him and Lewis. Their mother could care less, and she disappeared from their lives, never to be seen or heard from again. There was a rumor that she had been cheating on their father with someone and was now living with him, but no one could say for sure. This naturally affected the boys so much that they ended up having to go to therapy for a few years. It seemed to have helped them. However, it appeared life wasn’t getting any better for Holden. As he grew older, he finally understood that his mom never wanted him and Lewis, which made him hate her and never wanted to be like her.
Their dad was barely around since he had to work, so he had to hire a babysitter or have them go to their grandparents until they were old enough to care for themselves. As Holden got older, he couldn’t stand to be in the house as it only brought him bad memories, and not only that, he and his dad always argued about something, like whenever Holden claimed that Lewis was his father’s ‘golden child’. So, his relationship with his father and Lewis was strained, and he started to get into trouble at school, joined the wrong crowd, and started partying and drinking—though he didn’t want to be like his mother, this was one of his excuses to get out of the house.
One day in October, Holden was called into Principal Chester’s office, and there he saw his dad and the principal waiting for him. He sat down, and the principal informed his father that Holden was flunking his classes and that if he kept this up, he would have no choice but to repeat his senior year. Holden couldn’t believe what he was hearing, and he didn’t want to repeat his senior year as that would make him the laughing stock at school as he was one of the popular kids. At home, he and his dad got into a heated argument about that until Holden stormed to his room, done with the conversation.
What Holden didn’t realize was that his life would soon change when he has Kassidy as his tutor, someone he never interacted with but soon would.
Personality: A lot could say that Holden is a pretty cool and hilarious guy. He doesn’t look like he’s smart, but a lot would be surprised how that can be far from it once he better grasps some information and such. He’s a pretty good hip-hop dancer, as well, and pretty snarky. For his cons, Holden can act like a jerk—sometimes he doesn’t mean to do that—he often tends not to think things through and says things that usually get under one’s skin, he can be quite a troublemaker, and usually has some growing up to do. Even though Holden sometimes acts like a jerk, he’s actually a good guy.
