9 hours, tablet, mainly OpenCanvas, some Dogwaffle and ImageReady post-editing.Started off as a hand study. Turned kind of morbid. Feel free to interpret however you wish.
If anyone needs a larger file of this, though I can't imagine why, just ask. The original is 2000 by 1500 pixels.

i love how you have portrayed Draco trying to scratch at the Dark Mark that is a symbol of his part in all the murders committed by his fellow death eaters; a sign of his moment of weakness...It literally scars him for life... It's epic !!!!
Although, i have a favour to ask of you...
Could you do a deviant art of only Draco, with his Dark Mark and him trying to cut himself where the mark is (this is where you can incorporate the above scars in his arm).
...Possibly this happens in that scene in Half Blood Prince where Draco seeks comfort in Moaning Myrtle...He is in a moment of weakness and is in despair, he literally tries to get the death mark out of his skin and almost tears his clothes in desperation...
I can SO see him hyperventilating... Pls, pls, do it, pls !!!

This is...breathtaking, to say the very least. It seems to me that the hands belong to Snape and Harry, but I'm a romantic, deep down. The scars they both have are so symbolic, and the "Fall in love" line at the very bottom just maks me sad and happy at the same time. This is gorgeous, awesome work.

I love this piece of art, sadley i am horible when it comes to reading cursive o i was go able to make out a few pieces of what harrys arm said. i read some where eles, on another review page that there is a story that goes with this? i would love the link. if there is a story that goes with it. if not can you tell me all that it says. thanks

I haven't written any stories to go with this, myself, but another piece in Hands series is based on The Price of Magic: [link] I don't know if anyone else wrote a story inspired by this artwork but I'm now very curious to see if it's the case.

Wow that's really really good. But i have to disagree with Mooncroww, the minute i saw this i thought the one hand looked feminen (cant spell), and i emidiatley thought of Draco and Hermione. is that a possibility?

Love it, it's so meaningful, I love the contrast between the colors of the two hands and the two "marks" 
The words were added in time I assume (for the character I mean)?!
And just out of curiosity: was the death mark green in the novels (don't remember) or was the color your choice?

It is a wonderful symbolism, marks on their hands. I can see relationships between them - war change people, erase age and gender differences.
Comrades-in-arms are different from "the rest" of population and similar in their experience..it can be seen from Vietnam, Afganistan's war veterans, that have returned home. You do not have to be Rockie, to feel alienated from society. You return crippled, in moral and physical way.
Life is never ever gona be the same for them. The ease of killing, the vanity if everyday intrigues..

Well only after, reading the comments, did i understand it was harry/snape hands. I had noticed the link between the writing in the skin and umbridge's "detentions", but hadn't got farther than that.
On teh anatomy, it's close to perfect, except soemthign that bothers me on snape's hand. Just telling you for following works, cause i know obviously you can't change it now, but i think the thumb is too short. Even with perspective from the position of the hand, it should have been still a bit longer .. and the index is either too much on our side or to the otehr (depending on the position the hand is supposed to be in) .. But taht's really details
And the morbid details .. well are why i love this piece.. Damn i'm such a drama queen ^^. It tells stories : individual stories of the past, for each characters, and the position of the hands tells about a story in the present, and the contrast makes it very interesting.
