Description
9 hours, tablet, mainly OpenCanvas, some Dogwaffle and ImageReady post-editing.Started off as a hand study. Turned kind of morbid. Feel free to interpret however you wish.
If anyone needs a larger file of this, though I can't imagine why, just ask. The original is 2000 by 1500 pixels.

Eeeck, sorry, Sarah. I'm ok with my work being used for LJ icons, but if it's anything bigger than 100x100 pixels I'd like to keep it in certain galleries/sites only, credit or not.

Wow, gorgeous. I love how the writing is all crossed out with cuts, and there are cuts all over the Dark Mark if it is Snape's arm, like he tried to cut it out. Dammit, that's a part of one of my fanfics, only with an iron. Also, Draco Malfoy instead of Snape...so not really...
Anyway, very cool.

This is my favorite one in the series i think. I love the hands, and the scars... so different in meaning but maybe linking the two together? Beautiful.

Wow.... This picture brought me to tears just looking at it. My first reaction was Snape/Harry. (And I love Snarry, so it will remain that way, at least in my mind.)
Absolutely amazing. Without a doubt the best S/H I've ever seen. (Of course, if it were Harry/Draco, it would be the best H/D, and so on forever.) Brilliant.

AHHH!!! Can some one please tell me who is in the picture? For all we know it could be lucious and madame Ponfrey! lol....anyways, I would like to think of it as Draco and hermione but if not then I am fine with it....just please not Mr. Malfoy and the school nurse? lol, It is gorgeous by the way, I favorites it!!!! This is beautiful. I think of everything I've seen you do this is my favorite. There's something very deep and powerful lurking inside of this piece of art. The symbolism of the hands, the different kinds of marks, and the obvious scratches and scars over Snape's indicating an attempt at reversal. All that aside, you can see passion in the way the hands fit together. You can almost imagine the rest of the drawing, two bodies very close together, perhaps entwined intimately in a bed or some place where promises are spoken in darkness. Promises are being made by the simple way the hands are put together. "I will protect you" but at the same moment there's so much sexuality with it. It's the contrast between devotion and sex and which emotion is winning out isn't all that clear, nor is it that simple. Becuase sex and devotion often come together to be a tangled mess of themselves, and those two hands, stretching outwards as if reaching for something and finding only one another are caught right between those two emotions. And if they are lucky when they close and touch, wrap fingers around one another sex and devotion will melt to something akin to love with the silent understanding of the promises that simple gesture just made.
In short: i'm enraptured with this piece.

I think this is absolutely fantastic. Hands for a start off, and the fingernails too. (How I envy your ability to drac hands!) I've got to say, I like to think of it as Draco, tourtured and restrained by his father and Snape. (Also, I really like the last part of the writing on the arm)

holy wow. really incredible. hands have always been something that i've been dying to do a sketch study on... i knew a boy with some great hands that i was dying to draw, unfourtunatly i never got around to it while we were together...
also i love hp, and though i'm not big on harry/deatheaters, i really really enjoy this piece.

Thank you for the comment. Hands are a very interesting and intricate subject to draw. I haven't marked the piece specifically as HP fanart on this site -- wanted everyone to come up with their own story for the hands, the story that works for them.
I have a Medion tablet. I believe it was about $40, but previously I've worked with a JamStudio ($15) and had no complaints about it as well.

I see Harry's arm, relaxed finally, & in a comfortable embrace.
I also see Snape's arm, marked not only by his mistakes but by his hatred & self disgust from the past.
Together, I think it works perfectly.

That's lovely. I love the mark on the arm. And the writing on the other. Out of curiosity, are those Snape's arms? Cause it would make sense for him to have the mark on one arm, for the evil he was involved in and reminders on the other of why he is no longer part of it. I also wonder why it is red, is it in blood? Or am I going to deep?

Like I said, a possibility, Mooncroww. I decided to let the viewers decide for their own. The main thing I wanted to express with this piece is the difference and similarity of hands, both with marks to bear, scratched out and unfaded, marks that have taught them something, be it the mistakes of past, the necessity of lying, the inescapable outcome of denial, or the most simple truth of all, that all the scratches and scapes of the past have inevitably led them . . . here, from not telling lies to not falling in love, in a few simple but oh so complicated steps.
