"I know. I'm sorry." He whispered, as her warm body pressed against his, her cold tears dripping onto his fur.

"I thought, he wanted to be with me, forever. Didn't he?"

"I..." Mtanga hesitated. A long, breathless moment passed before his paw pulled her in closer. He knew Bahati was nothing more than a womanizing, horrible lion. He knew that there was no love for Khata. He only wanted her for....

"... W-What about our cub?" Khata cried into her friend's mane. "It's due in just a few weeks. I- I just wanted us to be a family."

"I don't know, Khata. I'll... We'll figure something out, okay?"

Hi, some OC stuff. I've been coming up with a lot of TLK/OCverse lore that I hope to write/draw about for you all c:

Mtanga and Khata are both very, very old characters of mine that I've spent a bit of time lovingly rewriting, along with Bahati, who isn't much newer than they are.

Bahati hasn't made an appearance on dA, but will likely show his face at some point. He's a real scumbag, and has fathered many cubs with many lionesses, and left behind many broken hearts in his tracks. Mtanga, his brother, is aware of this, but never expected his childhood friend to fall victim to the same trickery that so many others had. He's always cared deeply for Khata, and will eventually offer to step in as the cub's father. The pair will eventually have a cub of their own as well.
