Introducing the Forestville Fire Protection District. Fire Station 1 houses Engine 2921, Platform 2961 and Alternative Care (AC) 2991. 2921 and 2961 are staffed with 4 personnel. AC2991 is staffed with 1 to 2 personnel. Members work a 48/96 shift schedule across 4 platoons. All full time personnel are trained to the Paramedic level and all apparatus are Advanced Life Support certified through the county and state. Fire Station 1 is located in the Old Towne section and serves a mix of light commercial, retail and residential area and part of the Great Aspen Highway. Fire Station 1 is the busiest station responding to approximately 1,200 fire and ems calls annually. Fire Station 1 is also responsible for most mutual and automatic aid responses to neighboring communities. Forestville utilizes a unique resource known as the Alternative Care unit. The Alternative Care unit came to fruition in 2018 when an increase of EMS began to occur and a lack in unit availability was identified. There are currently 3 Alternative Care units in the department. These units are staffed by Firefighter/Paramedics and are capable of handling all EMS response but their primary responsibility is rapid response on EMS runs. Once on scene, and in most cases with the help of an engine or ladder company, personnel can begin treatment on scene and make the decision to either transport or not to transport the patient(s) to an area hospital. Forestville is a non transport agency. Transports are handled by Forestville EMS. FEMS also responds to EMS calls within the town to offset the response of the fire department.

GOING FORWARD: Going forward I will be doing Journal Entries for all projects that goes in depth on each location, their history and the services they provide. Each line art post will have some information to go along with it to better explain that particular company, firehouse, precinct, etc. All projects are still works in progress. Continue to expect multiple postings for all line art. Emergency Service based line art posts will come in a few installments compared to multiple posts like Liberty City for example, I will post each individual fire station/Firehouse and equipment quartered there and another posting will be all support apparatus, command units, special units etc. In 1 to 2 weeks an example of this will be posted.
