Description Vail Fire Rescue, Aspen County, Absaroka. Pictured here is the current fleet operating out of 2 current firehouse. Fire Station is located at the town municipal complex and also doubles as fire administration. Stationed here is Engine 2521, Platform 2561, Hazmat 2582, The fire chief and the duty officer vehicle. Fire station 2 which was recently built currently only houses Rescue Engine 2581. Currently on order is 1 HME quint, 2 brush units and 2 utility trucks. Currently the department is operated by a full time fire chief and a group of approximately 28 volunteers who work staggering duty shifts between both fire stations. Also under the leadership of the fire chief, a new county fire and ems training facility is being designed under a joint effort of all county fire departments. This project is supported by all municipalities and is expected to be completed in December 2022 along with the delivery of the new apparatus. More information to be posted in a Journal Entry.
