Description Introducing the Greenville Fire Company located in Liberty County, New Liberty. Greenville (Company 21) protects a permanent population of just over 6,000 residents in roughly 12 square miles to include State Highway 1, 2 refineries, 2 ports and multiple schools and part of a large rail yard. The daytime population swells to over 10,000. Greenville borders and provides mutual aid assistance to Paulsport, East Greenville and portions of Raccoon Valley. The department operates out of two firehouses, Firehouse 1 is located in the north end of the township and Firehouse 2 operates at the south end. The department is 100% volunteer with the exception to the fire chief and the members working in the Fire Marshals Office. The department utilizes stipend duty crew programs to ensure 24 hour staffing in at least one of the firehouses around the clock with a small response from home base.

Firehouse 1 (Headquarters): Housed here is Engine 21-2, Brush Unit 21, Fire Marshalls Office, The Chief Office, Training facility as well as the quartermaster and a few other odds and ends. Engine 21-2 is a 2023 Pierce/FES pumper tanker with a 2500 gal. booster tank, 2000 gal. per minute pump and basic firefighting and extrication equipment and minimal ems gear. Engine 21-2 is first due in the north end of the township and runs 2nd due to the south end and does mutual aid to parts of Raccoon Valley and part of East Greenville. The department is currently spec'ing a mini pumper to accommodate Engine 21-2.

Firehouse 2: Housed here is Squad 21, Engine 21 and SB21 as well as 2 utility vehicles on order. Squad 21 is the former Engine 21-2 and is a 2015 Pierce PUC pumper with a 2000 gal. booster tank, 2000 gal. per minute pump and a vast compliment of firefighting, rescue and ems equipment and is 1st due out of Firehouse 2 covering the south end of the township. Engine 21 is a 1993/2021 refurb EONE pumper with a 1000 gal. booster tank, 1500 gal. per minute pump and is equipped with basic engine company equipment compliment and responds 2nd due on specific local boxes and into Paulsport on the first alarm as the third due engine. SB21 is a 2003 Pierce Sky Boom that has a 500 gal. booster tank, 2000 gal. per minute pump, 65 foot boom and basic engine and ladder company tools. SB21 primarily operates as a reserve piece/the last due rig in the township and is slated to be sold or placed into the county reserve pool.

Company 21 responds to roughly 300 runs per year. While not overly busy, they benefit from quality of work responding into Paulsport and the first due hazards they are responsible for. Greenville is also one of the original charter members of the Liberty County Fire Service commission which help provide guidance and oversight for every department in the county. Squad 21 is also part of Liberty County SOC which is responsible for all technical disciplines such as hazmat, confined space, trench rescue, high and low angle rescue, etc.
