This is the dorsal perspective view of a UED retrofit design for the Venator Star Destroyer

Basic Description:

While the United Empire of Dimensions has a very proud history of it's own original designs, it has never been shy about using the designs of others, brought to a UED standard to bolster it's formidable forces. This tradition begins with the Kuat Drive Yards Venator Star Destroyer. Upon discovery of the universe containing the Star Wars Galaxy, the UED immediately set about gathering as much intelligence as it could, finding the Galaxy in the midst of the Galactic Civil War sometime before the construction of the second Death Star. Spies managed to break into several Imperial Strongholds to acquire technical data and design documentation, among these were the complete plans to produce Venator Star Destroyers. Upon receiving this, several high ranking officers of the UED military banded together to retrofit it completely with UED technology, and bring it to a state of worthiness within UED fleet doctrine, this would be the first project of the new company born of this endeavor, known as Dracanis Armatech. After Dracanis Armatech had finished their work the Venator had been very thoroughly transformed, with increased technology and capabilities. Among these were more powerful UED Ion Engines, updated Shield Generators, the installation of a UED Hyperdrive Core and Fusion Reactors, the inclusion of UED alloys into the armour, and changing the armour panels to more closely resemble the UED's uniform armour arrangements. In addition most of it's existing weapons were removed and replaced with UED equivalents, and a combination of UED automation technologies and the addition of superstructure to portions of the hull also saw it's weapons roster expanded significantly, with a total weapon's loadout of 12 Dual Heavy Turbolasers, 12 Heavy Anti-Ship Proton Torpedo Tubes, 10 Single Heavy Ion Cannons, 35 Dual Medium Turbolasers, 60 Broadsiding Single Light Turbolasers, mounted in casements, and 50 Dual Anti-Proton Flak Cannons. While the weapon loadout was expanded in both numbers and variety, the additional superstructure and weapons cut into the stored fighter counts, bringing the UED Venator's embarked fighter craft from 192 of the original, down to 100, still giving it a sizeable compliment for it's size. After completion and adoption into the UED fleet structure, the success of this design led to several other designs being retrofitted and folded into UED service, such as the Imperator II, and Praetor II Star Destroyers, forming the tradition of UED fleets being centered around current generation Star Destroyer designs of their own making in the future.
