Description This is a memory of a horse I used to know--his name was Snicker, and I was the only one willing to ride him because he was a bit of a troublemaker around the stable *smiles, remembering* I can't imagine why, though--he was so sweet.

One day he and I were bored on a trail ride, so I decided to ride closer to the woods and let him eat some grass (which we weren't supposed to do). Our trail leader spotted me and started to yell at me. On the spur of the moment (no pun intended) I nudged him with my heels and said, "Let's get out of here, boy!" And we did. It took them quite a bit to catch us, but we had such a good run that day!

It didn't happen exactly like this--we weren't riding bareback, of course, but I'm not comfortable enough to draw tack properly yet (although I am practicing). And I was younger then.

I love horses, and I miss riding. I'd give just about anything to get on a horse again, and I hope this summer I'll find a place I can ride.

You're right, he was a dapple-grey! I must have drawn him right, then--yay!!

Snicker was such a great horse; I loved him so. I couldn't understand why no one else had the patience to ride him--he was such a sweet horse and a lot of fun; all he needed was a little understanding. Maybe we got on so well because he and I were a lot alike, really

I wanted to ask you how you draw tack--saddles and stuff. Do you use references, or do you just know because you see your own gear all the time?

I wouldn't want to put you out and make extra work for you--but I might study your pieces along with my show magazines to try and learn if that's all right with you!

Actually, it's rude of me to turn down such a kind offer, so if you were to do one, I would be grateful Far be it from me to be rude to one of my best buds around these parts!

I'd love to ride horses, but I think I'm allergic. It could be the hay that they eat, though.

That's too bad--I know someone who used to ride all the time when he was younger but developed an allergy as he got older. I felt so bad for him!

What a wonderful picture. I was a horse-back rider myself, once... I miss Breezy... I was going to try and ride her eventually... Oh well.

Anyway, you did a great job with the lines on this one. Nice and smooth. Great job!

Thank you, but oh goodness, no they weren't--my scanner completely worried this one. I hadn't had to do this much depixilation in a very long time. But I am pleased with it Glad you like it!
