Raven's master final words before he died on his hand.
After his master death, Raven composed a Symphony in memorial his master. One last Symphony before he stopped playing violin. One last Symphony before the war.
Ps: Raven talent is forbidden magic.
Raven is a powerful forbidden magic user, but he can't stabilize his power. Therefore, chaos happened everytime he used his magic. He used to abandon his training because he afraid of hurting others. After his master death, he start to practice his magic seriously, and leaving what he love the most, playing violin.
After seeing lion's anatomy, Raven's hand supposed to be has 5 fingers.... i should remake his ref sheet soon before i make terrible mistakes OTL
I got problem with my lappy, slow lappy is super slowww. I hope it get better soon. Drawing this took me soooo long TT^TT

The background is supposed to be dark if the is no magical lights come from book, i believe the paper just blocking the light so it appeared that there is shadow behind it ^^

First of all, let me say, FANTASTIC piece overall! The lighting and composition of the of the entire portrait is pretty much spot on! I love what you did with the background with the stars and how the character's cloak gradually fades into the background. The originality of the piece reminds me of a mystical wizardry kind of story which I LOVE! I also like the soft textures of the brush strokes throughout the piece, it really gives off a warm feeling when you look at it. But what I believe what tied this together is the title you added to your piece. It may sound silly, but a title can add an entire story to a piece of art work! Which it did for me. The only thing that slightly bothers me is the color of the cloak. The purples are just a little to much to look at and kind of distract the person from the main point of the portrait. But even so, I absolutely LOVE this piece. -and I'll be looking for more of your works in the future!

I found this through Project Comment and let's see here. I agree with the other guy who wrote the first Critique that the background and colors used in this picture are excellent and really make most of it stand out. It is very well done overall, but I do have to point out the issues with the arm holding the violin as it doesn't seem to be in proportion with the other arm so it didn't look right to me.
The red ribbon should have been replaced with a different color, although I am not sure about the wings but looking at them makes me wonder if a new design should have been used.
But make no mistake I still think you did a wonderful job with the picture overall I am just suggesting areas for improvement that's all. And I am confident whatever works you do next will just as good or better since we do art for many reasons, but one is to always find ways to improve and do better.

i used foreshorthening for the hand, so maybe the left arm looks different than the right one. The wings is part of him.There is no way i will change his design for this scene

The lighting effect is very beautiful, especially the way it's reflected against the shirt and paper. The stars are also really beautiful. I also love how the cloak is translucent and the shading of the feathers. In fact, I think the entire outfit has a really cool design.
But there are a few problems. One of them is that the hand that is holding the violin isn't holding it the correct way at all. Second, the red ribbon at the end of the hair looks out of place because it's this splash of red against a blue and purple background. Third of all, I can't tell whether the feathers are part of the cloak, or if the character has wings. They look nice, but I can't tell what they are.

Tutorial komposisi jarang banget, cuma ada penjelasan ttg macam2 komposisi TT^TT
Jadi aku liat2 gambar, terus dianalisa sendiri komposisinya, mana yg bikin orang jleb sekali lihat~

So this one caught my eye immediately both due to the colors and the title. And then the music you put in the artist's description really brought it to life. The way the cloak flows upwards and the pages really gives it a feeling of magic. I really want to know who this character is and why they stopped playing the violin despite the fact that it seems to almost contribute to the magic. I also really like how the feathered cloak(?) appears to be angel wings almost. My only gripe is a bit of a nitpick that comes from being a violinist myself. The way a violin bow is held, the pointer finger rests atop the bow, the pinky finger's tip is on the end, and the two fingers in the middle are sort of draped over. The thumb is curved and does not really grip. As it is now, it appears as if the bow is in a strong grip. Here is a picture of a violin bowhold for reference: www.easdpa.org/elementary/Orch… . I love this piece it has so much life to it

Yes, he still can play violin, but he choose not to. Leaving him on depressed state. He starts to play violin again after war ^^

It's a bit of a different circumstance but some of the results are similar. My character Myriv (who I play in a Dungeons and Dragons game) discovered that she and her travelling companions were chosen by the gods to stop the world from ending. She has been melancholy ever since because so many things could go wrong and yet failure is not an option. She's lost a lot of her confidence and wishes to gain it back. Your character's story made me think of how Myriv wishes for her confidence and enjoyment of life to return. It probably isn't going to happen soon, but I'm sure that once her ordeal is over, she will be okay.
