Do you have enough coins to cross the river safely?Let's hope you do
The dragon and lantern were done with pencil crayon (coloured pencils). The background, lighting effect, fog, fireflies and water were done digitally and I spent more hours on that than on my dragon, therefore I felt like it had more digital aspects to it.
Time: Over the course of one day.

This is very interesting-- the colors work well, especially the blue and yellow contrast; and the subject matter is both intriguing and a little humorous (where the ride "offered" looks as dangerous as the journey). Great Work!

Thank you very much! It's a neat concept, not the original one I had in mind. It was originally a sorceror with an owl perched on his arm while sitting on a dragon-head from a castle wall lol.

Beautifully done lantern. And the dragon is nicely done as well. However, it would be cool to cast the lanterns light on the dragon, giving him an under lighting effect (using yellow and orange to lightly give the effect of the lantern's light on the dragon is how I would do it, but this is only a suggestion

The lantern was meant to be a dim light, as you can see from the vague gradient on the picture. But I supposed the lighting could be exaggerated a bit more around the lantern. It's hard to do on my program, I would have to try to do it by computer somehow with the limited tools on it

Yeah, computers...headaches. lol. I would put lighting in with the colored pencils, that might turn out better results than dealing with a computer.

I wish I could go back and do that; but the amount of time and effort I put into the background forbids my sanity from ever going back O.o I will definately take your advice for the next time I draw a lantern in the dark

I'm not sure how this one got started. Well, actually it just hit me now
At first I was going to draw a picture of a sorceror guy perched on the head/neck of a gargoyle dragon jutting from the side of a castle, with an owl perched on his arm. Down below there'd be trees, mountains yadda yadda...
But then, it didn't work out so well. However, the head of the dragon came from a church in Poland I saw one time. So I drew that, then...it formed into this! hehe thank you so much for the comment!
