Made because the Galactic Empire needed to make one of their heaviest capital ships, heavier. The ship boasts several heavy weapons. It's covered in Turbolasers, Ion cannons and boasts heavy armor. This armor does come at a cost however, as the ship lacks a ventral hanger. The Tector is an offshoot of the Imperial line, being almost virtually identical to the Imperial I Class Star Destroyer.
