Had a thought about this this morning...not sure if you will find it helpful:

Depending on how much expression the 3DCG heads can show, to make this segment (And the girl's reconfiguration) more dramatic, you COULD add an inset panel or two.

These panels could focus on his panicked view as the nanites consume his clothing and change his body to HER new form...
One or two panels could be focused on HER face as the process finishes there. (Maybe before her optics go dark and she passes out?)

This scene (and the earlier 'girl's' scene) has impact, but it could be stronger.
It's kinda like how a Hollywood director would film a werewolf TF...The director would move the camera in close and show the body parts changing...cutting back to the person's face occasionally, showing how they feel...and then cutting to another body part transforming.

That would help us empathize MORE and connect with him...err...HER.
