Description Took me a while to understand what this is about. The image came to my mind when i was falling asleep. I think it evokes the change in a mother / baby relation after his birth, when he is no longer inside the uterus. To be sustained, the relation needs material gifts to be given from the mother to her baby. The child's needs are filled on purpose, changing forever the essence of the organic sharing that took place initially.

Very interesting. The baby's head is exploding into Lego pieces? I like surrealism..it has to do with our deep inner person, the subconscious. I suspect they are the arms of a man...your father perhaps?.Β

Thanks, yes the baby is falling apart into lego pieces. I didn't think of myself as the baby but i find your deduction interesting The arms are indeed those of a parent, watching his newborn child fall appart

I find your work interesting..it contains messages of your inner person. A work of art is not just an exterior representation, nor is it a show of technicality, it is a message from you. The way I see it, is that we can not speak of that thing which is there, deep within us, but the subconscious knows it and reveals it in the work we do. Consider it this way: Everyone is attracted to exterior objects/things/subjects...simply because they are a MIRROR of what lies within themselves. So...our artwork is simply a portrayal of what is within us. When I am able to find my way around this site, I will explain in deeper detail, how my own artwork portrays my inner subconscious, the part of me that struggles and has retained past traumas and difficulties. Consider that your other works also show signs of pregnancy...has to do with your early years..your birth...baby...childhood. The Lego pieces suggest that your mind, from an early stage, was already being attacked with unwanted systematic thinking. Perhaps your father?. The baby is telling me "My mind is falling apart!". That's what I see in your work. I'm not claiming it's exactly the interpretation, but sufficient it is that I CAN see the message. Β

I really like this. It's very surreal. What kind of materials did you use to create it?Β

I see something of the underlying incestuous urges a parent has in the form of sheltering their children, sometimes to the point of Munchausen by Proxy syndrome. Very powerful image.

Very interesting. I think this picture can be interpreted in many ways. You can think that humanity is a construct, and even if you try to understand the 'building blocks' that someone is made of, existence is a changing thing that makes those concepts crumble in your hands... we're also one with the physical surroundings, like toys that are exensions of ourselves. Alternatively, there might be the horrible notion of the child becoming a plaything for the parent, destroying his individuality...

thanks a lot! your interpretation is very interesting. I rarely build images consciously. When an idea comes to my mind and grabs my attention i wonder : why does an image that makes no sense evokes a feeling? I think a stimulating feeling coming from an absurd idea reveals an unconscious interpretation, so yes surrealism can be interpreted in many ways.

I get a lot of those unconscious ideas too, which I use more in my poetry ( Chrysalite ) than my drawings. This picture with the baby looks like something I would think about while falling asleep, and they make sense in their own way, conveying a feeling that would be impossible to find common expressions for... It's funny how a new idea that makes sense can appear as if from nowhere.

I know, good art doesn't get appreciated much, seems to be the law...
Still, I'm glad I've found you, I enjoy original & challenging art!
