Today was not a good day for me.

I've been struggling with monetary issues this past week, and all my attempts to earn more money have fallen flat. I tried to apply for an on-campus job at my college only for them to turn me down, and I tried getting a Fiverr and setting up a gig where I would say absolutely anything in a Ralph Wiggum impression , to which I have STILL gotten no responses. I can't afford to buy groceries or eat at restaurants, so I've only been able to eat dining hall food and the meager supply of food I have in my dorm. My professors have been piling on the homework, which has been really overwhelming for me. My boyfriend, who works at a sports apparel store, has had to work very long shifts as of late because the store is getting increased traffic due to the upcoming Super Bowl, and thus we aren't able to hang out as much. I was blocked by a fanfic author on Archive Of Our Own who I really admired but had lost contact with, and found out that the reason he left my Burnsmithers Discord server (which, if you want to join, you can join by clicking here ) is because my territorial shipping, mercurial nature, and tendency to "speak on behalf of the fandom" created an environment that made him uncomfortable. And my own fanfics on Archive Of Our Own are getting no comments and a very slow trickle of views, which, combined with the fact that my attempts to promote my Fiverr have fallen on deaf ears, just makes me feel... invisible.

So I decided to cheer myself up by drawing something sweet. And thus, I made a drawing combining three things that make me smile: fan characters that I've created, loving relationships between parents and children, and Seymour Skinner.

Thus, I drew Simon Skinner-Chalmers , one of my fankids from The Simpsons: Team L.A.S.H., sharing a tender hug with his "Principal Dad". Since Team L.A.S.H. is set 10 years later, I tried to make Skinner look visibly older (in fact, I used his appearance in "Lisa's Wedding" as a reference). And honestly, I can't believe it took me this long to draw Simon and Seymour together, considering Simon is so attached to him.

Also, for those who don't get the title, here's a bit of Team L.A.S.H. Lore™; Seymour often refers to Simon as his "golden child" because Simon is so gifted and diligent. This will show up later in the story.
