Dayum, that's so perplexing x~x I look at it and have to do a triple-take because I think 'there's no way they're selling it that low', especially when the others are in the hundreds!
Not that I'm complaining, but whaaaa? xD I seriously felt like they were trolling.

i can tell, i must learn your ways as i am learning and interested in animation, and this is hellish good. what animation programe do you plane to use. Flash 5.5, flash pro 8 (the one the team MLP team uses), other?

i also noticed on your web site some 3d modeled stuff. what program is that?

FlamingoRich In reply to Template93 [2012-05-02 00:13:57 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah! In our concept area. That science table was created in Autodesk Maya so that we could keep the science table's contents consistent while changing camera angles.

i figured that. im also learning 3d modeling through autodesk 3d max, and it looked similar. what i dont like about that programe is that it only runs on PC, so i cant use the programe at home. it looks good. take it you do the models, then add textures, render, and use it as the backdrop for your animation.

FlamingoRich In reply to Template93 [2012-05-02 00:40:02 +0000 UTC]
Nope - we only use the 3D models for basic blocking (like what's in our concept folder). Then we screencap it, toss it in Flash or Illustrator - and draw the backgrounds using the screencap as a tracing guide.

Twilight's teleport:
Are you gonna use the subtle ''arcane'' sound effect from S1 ?
Or are you gonna use the lightning bolt ''bang'', sound effect used more in S2?
Or a whole new sound effect?
Also are you gonna make a new visual for Twilight's teleport, or you're gonna replicate either the white one from S1, or the purple-red one from S2?
''Arcane''

''Bang''

And the next question is more about the animation angles.
In Flash there's usually just 4-9 clear different angles and they make the characters speak in one of them? Cause if you count how many deegrees there are(360), it would have to be one hell of a library to form from bottom to top.
Or it's a completely different thing to have a character able to do a 360spin or a lot of head angles for the transitions, than have them talk and make face expressions in like 81 angles instead of 9-16?

FlamingoRich In reply to LolZorzs [2012-05-02 17:04:08 +0000 UTC]
As far as sounds go, that's not really my forte. Most of these SFX will depend on my sound design team (headed by Mandopony).
And for angles - yes - there are six main angles to a pony (front, 3/4, profile, back 3/4, low-angle, and high-angle). Whenever a pony has to hit an angle that's in between those six, the animator has to take the existing puppet and pose it in a way to make that angle happen.

I really want to get into animation, so I can understand this XS. Either way it looks so detailed and intricate, with the different perspectives being shown. I can only imagine that this took a long time to create, either way your team did a great job! Keep up the work with this type of talent the animation is bound to be epic!
My only question is that for the more dynamic perspectives, such as a camera angle looking down on any of the mane 6, will you make rigs for those or is that a one time thing?

FlamingoRich In reply to Leiodan12 [2012-05-01 14:58:53 +0000 UTC]
We have a few shots with low & high angles - so we'll be constructing puppets for those views as well. (And thanks! I'm glad you enjoy it.)

...what's ear position three for?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
FlamingoRich In reply to BlackWidower [2012-05-01 05:41:11 +0000 UTC]
It's a rare ear that Twilight sometimes uses to express a more subtle emotion (usually one of embarrassment or shame). Normally though - ponies use the second ear position for the downward shape.

You put a lot of work into this. I hope it pays off for you. OOO! I just had a thought. Perhaps one who's smarter than me, and has more time than you could use these assets to modify generalzoi's pony creator to work at different angles, like 3Q.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1
FlamingoRich In reply to BlackWidower [2012-05-01 15:54:12 +0000 UTC]
I have nothing against it! But in this case, this puppet is meant to be used as freeware. So forcing bronies to ask my permission every time they want to use it just seems unnecessary.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
BlackWidower In reply to FlamingoRich [2012-05-01 16:20:49 +0000 UTC]
AH! Then may I recommend a by-nc or by-nc-sa licence! Don't scrap CC altogether. Because if you do, that would mean they would legally have to ask your permission every time.
