This is amazing, I've spent a ton of hours googling various tutorials online to improve my skills and this simple tutorial has taught me more practical info in 10 minuets then all those other ones combined.

Thank goddess you made this, I was looking for this type of tutorial but everyone just doesn't get what I needed help on. Thank you for hitting the key points in animating pictures as well as drawing them in flash and making them into symbols and stuff. THANK YOU!

An awesome tutorial, indeed. But there is one thign I am curious about... I am using flash 8, and I don't see a smooth tool. Are you using MX or another version?

You forgot to mention that adding gradients creates a much larger file size when you save your movie. Its good to know. Great tutorial btw.

Goody! Some new tips on the differences between a pencil tool and a paint brush tool (quite obvious now that I see if meself -- feel pretty stupid now). And the "smooth" command looks more simple to use than just cleaning it up by hand!

Something I've been meaning to ask...Do you use a tablet? This tutorial doesn't really help me because I can't even draw that well(I'm left handed and grew up on a right handed mouse)so I'm thinking a tablet would make it easier?

well, technically, I draw with a mouse.
but as i said, This tutorial is to teach you how the vector tools work, you can draw in your own style and make it look good from what I wrote in the tutorial, this tutorial didnt teach you on how to draw, it teach you how to utilize the tools in flash. as i have already mention, how you are gonna do ur flash is base on ur own style, not mine.
