Looking at it, that mine could have been predicted.
Either the top left or middle left had to be a mine, satisfying the 2 just to the left of where the mine actually was. Bottom left therefore couldn't have been a mine, leaving bottom right to have to be a mine.

I'm fairly sure somebody else said something along those lines.

Got here from google.

Don't know if this was mentioned, but it's not like this was 50/50. This could have been solved, it is obvious that mine could not be on the left from where you clicked, because then you couldn't satisfy both 2 and 4 on the north-west. So, this is still logical mistake and - as such - rather stupid failure. Sorry.

Actually, if you look at it then if the 2 remaining mines were mirrored [the top one goes to the right, and bottom to the left] then the conditions for all surround 2 and 4 blocks would still be accurate.

Still, the image isn't really based on the game's failure on allowing the game to be 100% mathematically solveable without luck, but rather failing on the very last guess.

if you mirror the mines, that 4 cannot be satisfied without making 2 on the left (or right below 4) into 3.

True, but you seem to forget that there are 6 uncovered blocks left, 2 of which have no numbers around them, which I do not count because of the fact that I dislike clicking blocks at random.

That leaves 4 blocks, the 3 to the right of the '2' and the one above the bottom '2'. When you look at it, all 4 of those blocks is a potential mine. Therefore it can only be solved if you spend a great deal of time on it.

So yes, kudos on examining a Minesweeper pic to determine that is in fact logically possible to uncover all remaining mines. But to reiterate, this picture was uploaded, not because of the fact that it is 100% mathematically impossible to solve [Which is untrue if you are willing to spend enough time on it] but this was uploaded because of the fact that I failed on the very last step of Minespweeper on Expert difficulty.

oh really, what about "4" to north-west of upper remaining mine?

I cant count the amount of times in a game where i think everythings clear and somethings jumps out of nowhere when you least suspect it >>;

Nah not really, the RE games never were 'scary' as they were 'uzzling'

Silent Hill are your scary games

i'd suggest either the Original Silent Hill for the PS1 [because it IS a good game considering it's for the defunct playstation 1] or Silent Hill 4: The Room (18)

SH4 is seriously one hell of a scary game, even I felt rather jittery afterwards. Especially the initial 'relude'.

I prefer SH4 myself, it steers away from the main story and only makes very slight references to the original/main story. Meaning you dont need a lot of Silent Hill knowledge to understand the game.
