Description Nerf Longshot paintjob and ''mod'' to look like a gun from District 9, note the smaller image, that's what I was emulating.

Used RigidWrap plaster, a small bottle, cardboard, and a series of wood dowels cut at angles for the 'bullets' (or whatever they could be)

does it still fire? if so, is it a dart or water blaster? the bolt and the bottle all in one place, you are confusing me.

Anyway, good job on this, never seen that movie, but it looks almost EXACTLY like your reference pic

Thanks! I've been looking forward to seeing other people's mods of D-9 guns. When I get some more time I hope to make the other ones!

Yea, the guns in that movie were so awesome! It's seem really hard to find any other source images for the other guns though... I had to get my image from a 'behind the scenes' video. It's pretty much only the arc gun that you can find.

If I had a step by step, I would totally share, but as usual, I forgot to take pictures during the process.

But first, you need a Nerf Longshot, some destructive tools, like (I used) wire cutters and wire snips to cut off the plastic top parts of the gun that I didn't want. (like the 'handle' ) Mostly the gun is still intact and the extra pieces are held on with adhesive velcro dots (the kind for fabric, surprisingly strong). And it's all just cardboard forms, painters tape (because it removes easy) and RididWrap plaster wrap. The dowels were glued together with wood glue, then glued to the top part with superglue.
Also, no powertools necessary (they scare me) I used a hand saw to cut the dowels. Dremels help, but I didn't use one.
And make sure you either take a picture or have a good memory of how the gun works on the inside, because you'll have to take it all apart to paint and mutilate it.

I hope this is relatively helpful! Feel free to message me with questions.
