Ball Lightning 1/3

The four set out immediately, pushing through the underbrush with as much speed as they could, dodging thorns and low hanging branches as they went, chasing the source of the shout. It has sounded close, and so it was after only a few moments of hurried travel that the group punched through the tree line into a small clearing, a scene enfolding in front of them.
Rhys was there, cowered down, his fur sticking up every which way, a huge yellow quad looming over him, claw upraised and a dark scowl on their face. They snarled and stepped closer to Rhys, the wyngling shrinking down even further, and Loki reacted, not stopping to think, his magic glands flaring as a crackling ball of energy began to build between his paws.
