EDIT 6/21/07: Now that I've gotten the new version of Inkscape with blur capabilities, I've updated this picture with a blur effect to increase the illusion of Fracktail fading into the background and created a little effect on Dimentio's magic blast. Fracktail is the first boss of Super Paper Mario. He is an advanced robotic dragon designed by the Ancients to guard the Pure Heart in Yold Desert, and pass it on to the legendary hero when he appeared. When Mario arrived, Fracktail was ready to fulfill his duty after fifteen hundred years of waiting- until a certain little jester showed up, and with a powerful blast of magic to the dragon's weak spot, completely fried his programming! Recognizing Mario no longer as the prophesied hero, but as only an enemy, Fracktail turned on the mustachioed plumber...

I rather like this one. Especially Dimentio up there. Hehe, he looks like he's enjoying himself. He does love his magic, and causing trouble.
The random rectangles are clouds. Yes. Lineland clouds.
The whole encounter with Fracktail is very humorous. He even makes an "I AM ERROR" reference! He's a very cool boss, and I've been wanting to do a picture of him for a while. (And I'm always up for drawing Dimentio again, of course.) So here you are!

This picture is #85 in the Vector100 Project, "Spiral!" [link] I think this is the first time I actually had the theme in mind when I was working on the picture... all the others I just finished according to my own whims and then fit into a theme later XD

Fracktail is a freaking GOD!
(you have no idea how loud I said "cool" when I found out they made him a trophy in SSB:B)
I never much liked Dimentio, but this really captured that whole scene perfectly. Even I have to admit it looks adorable.
Aside from Bleck, Fracktail was my favorite boss from that game. So big, and scaly, and AWESOME!

Dimentio looks so evilly pleased....Do you know how rare it is to find him in paper style with such an evil expression? VERY.
But enough about him. Fracktail looks great. You can even see the circuits inside his mouth - nice detail, by the way. Overall? AWESOME job.

hey, can you beat wracktail at the bttom of the pit of 100 trials? I can't. his little chickens take off 10 and keep killing me. I'm on my about 50th try now... grr, wracktail.
why can't dimentio just mess up this one for me too? oh yeah... because I killed him... wah.

I haven't actually gotten that far yet. I never did go back and finish any of the sidequests or extra things... which is surprising, huh, seeing how obsessed I am? I just got distracted by other things. But now that I'm replaying the game, I plan on doing all that stuff when I'm done.

wracktail is a white fracktail at the bottom of the pit of 100 trials. The pit is much easier in spm than in the last two. The lasers theys hoot can kill you in seconds, darn little robot chickens...
I still haven't attempted the sammer guy showdown yet tho

Yeah, I tried the pit a couple of times when I was playing the game, and I thought it was a lot easier and more fun... but I always turned back after a while, since I wanted to get on with the actual game.

It also reminds me how I have no idea how to use vector programs like Illustrator at all, and how I really need to learn how to use them Dx *wonders if she can find a detailed "vectors for dummies" guide somewhere*

I learned how to use Illustrator last year in a class I took in school, "Digital Graphics and Animation." It really wasn't as awesome of a class as it sounds, but we learned the basics of Illustrator and Flash. Originally I absolutely loathed Illustrator; however, I came to love it by the end of the year, and now look at me, a vector fiend XD
But the program I use now is Inkscape: [link] It's free if you want to mess around with it

Well, my boyfriend has a Wii, not me xD But he lives in my room and thus so does his Wii, so it's almost like I have one ^.^ But I've been gone at college so haven't had much of a chance to play any of the games on it x3 And he does have Super Paper Mario, so I assume that I'll eventually play it ;D
I actually legally own the whole CS2 bundle, so I have Illustrator. It's just I never learned how to use it x.x Actually, I've been so art'd out with school homework that I've hardly done anything with any of the programs xP I took a graphics class a few years ago and learned a few things in Illustrator, but it's been so long and that was on a Mac, so, I forget
And yes, it's good to see you too PJ, if um, anyone still calls you that <3 I need to do something to make sure I keep in touch with you guys at LEAST once a month, I always feel so bad when I realize I haven't talked in like over half a year, and then feel weird just randomly posting x.x Maybe I can play some videogames this summer and do fan art to try and keep myself around >.> Don't hold me to that, but I can try
