Description
The Simurgh is a mythical Persian bird that was said to be so old it has seen the world destroyed three times. Its name means thirty birds and was said to have thirty diferent colours in its feathers.In the original myth the Simurgh looked after Zal, who had been abandoned at birth because of his white hair, until his father, the king, realised his mistake and went looking for him.

this is actually amazing!... Breathtaking painting man! The watercolor adds an amazing effect too! And the colorschemes are simply outstanding

That's really cool! It looks like you put a lot of time and detail into this one. I've always thought that the world destroys and creates itself in cycles. maybe not literally, but still...

Thank you! It's certainly a recuring idea, most mythologies involve some sort of cycle, whether literal or metaphorical.

And most people haven't heard of this myth, which is one of the reasons I decided to paint it.
