Description
I'm not really sure what prompted me to do this, but I like how it turned out. It's based off of the body plan on certain ancient insect species, if they had somehow developed a pair of wings on each abdomen body segment, instead of just, well, the thorax. It kind of reminds me of the insects in some Miyazaki films, particularly Nausicaa.Related content

I don't think a dragonfly-sized bug would really benefit from so many wings, but a really tiny one might be at an advantage with several oarlike wings; air is almost like water at that scale.

Eh, this was more of an artistic funtime than any sort of effort to be realistic. I just really like drawing wings. They're too much fun, and then I get carried away...

The body makes me think of the Golden May Fly. This is a very interesting creature you have here!
