I need some feedback before I can keep going on this one.For those of you who don't watch Code Lyoko but wish to help: From left to right, the pink one is 'Aelita', the middle girl is 'Yumi', the blue sketch boy is 'Ulrich', the crouching kid is 'Odd', and the emo blob is 'William'. It'd be easiest if you could use their names.
I have Yumi, Aelita, and Odd all fully inked, but William does not wish to be in this picture. He must be really made at me for sticking him in a fetal position. Or just XANAfied and mad at everyone.
And I'm kind of scared to start Ulrich because I don't have any reference for his Evolution outfit from the side/back, it's all guesswork.
You guys get to see how horrible my lineart looks before I refine it. Terrific. Please do lose all respect.
Oh, that's not the final background color, by the way. I intend to have it a dark navy when it's done, but if I put that now, you guys would barely be able to see the lineart.So, uhh, that's it. Please give me some tips on this. >.< Especially if the placing's wrong. Does it look like Yumi's boots are shoved underneath William? Would the inclusion of Jeremie (as like a face in the background) mess up the composition? Is Odd's anatomy wrong?
If you guys fave and run I swear I will go crazy...please, PLEASE comment. -headdesk-

Well, I'm not very good at these things but I'm going to give it a shot.
The angle of the floor is a little hard to make out. Aelita, Yumi, Ulrich and Odd are facing straight-on in terms of perspective, but Ulrich's up higher than he rightfully should be. Unless he's standing on some sort of elevated platform, of course.
And William, unless he's floating or leaning off an edge he's at a really strange angle. Unfortunately I can't really see a way to fix it without leaving him out altogether or drawing him somewhere else, or you'd have to redraw everyone else D: Though you could just leave it and not care, that sounds like something I'd do XD It is an interesting pose, and I like it.
As for Jeremie, if you're aiming for a triangle of composition thingymajig then yes, he'd probably stuff it up a bit. I think adding him with William there would make it more of an S shape. But then, what do I know about these things?
And Ulrich's back, well, we know he has some sort of hilt on his back like in season 4 judging by the concept art. I say you should just make something up and maybe correct it when we get better images.
I simply adore the style and poses though! I reckon any way you do it, it'll turn out great in the end :'D

That's true. Yumi ended up way, way taller than her proportionally-incorrect sketch, so now Ulrich is much too short. I'd totally forgotten about making him taller; thank you.
Yeah, I should probably just completely redo William. His sword blade doesn't even lie at the same angle. xD I should find a good photo reference...I just need to twist him a little so it doesn't look like he's floating, I think.
I'll experiment with that...I put a sketch of his face in at one point, but it was too soon to tell. Thanks for your thoughts on this C:

I think this fanbase acts a little unpleaseable sometimes. I have complete faith that the new show will be fantastic. It's not like it was sold out or anything, right? I don't get where people are getting the 'It's going to be awful' vibe, they're making all the right choices so far.

Yeah, and I can see why. There are some people who stick to season 1 being the best season, and it all going downhill since Aelita was found out to be an actual human. And people are very opposed to cartoons becoming live action in general, so yeah. But I say give it a chance! Not that it's easy when you don't speak French >_>; I tend to overlook that because I can speak French
But yeah, it's way too early to be judging if you ask me.

<.< >.> I actually thought season 1 was the worst one...they only had one goal to work towards and the formula was predictably episodic. Aelita did get bit too much focus sometimes later on, but I think she earned every second of it.

I liked it because the animation was easier on the eyes and the plots were much darker. It was like the threat seemed more real than in the other seasons. Closer to Garage Kids too. But to each his own
If they do dub it I hope it's with our regular actors ;u; I love them.

The 2D animation, you mean? The 3D was just terrible in my opinion...looked like melting clay, with too-bright colors...
I don't know, I thought the threat became way more real when they found out that XANA had been getting stronger every time they launched a Return. Season one was good and necessary, because after that many episodes of them resetting everything, it's just one big "...Oh, crap." moment.
Hahaha. I do hope they get someone else to play Jeremie, though...I mean, I like his voice actress fine, but it's too weird having him and Aelita (and the other character/actor pairs on the show) voiced by the same person. I hope they get some good new guys.
As long as it isn't all new adults. I think it would be fine if they dubbed it with all new appropriately-aged kids, as long as they're good at acting...-ramble ramble-

Ah yeah, sorry XD The 3D characters were weird, but the backgrounds were more realistic. And the animations...augh, so terrible @_@
I don't think they had too many actors on staff. Ulrich's VA played so many people [and Kiwi], she's so talented ;u;
I dunno, it's harder to get kids to do dubs. I think the main reason is that their voices change a lot, especially with guys. But it's probably more of a long-term problem, so it might be ok for just Evolution.
...unless they call another 5-year hiatus and bring it back again.

That's true. Yeah, it's a pity Lyoko didn't look more like Xanadu.
I know xD I think it was just like seven people. Maybe nine, tops. I think William's VA is talented, he did Jim, too, and I never would have guessed.
But if they're the same age as the actors from Code Lyoko, then both of their voices will change at the same rate. People overestimate that problem. Look at Avatar: The Last Airbender. They used real kid and you never notice their voices change until you play the last and first episodes together.

Yeah, maybe. I didn't know some of the A:tLA characters were voiced by kids XD I still like our regular VAs though <3

Oh, most of them were voiced by the proper age. Sokka was older than his character, I know, but he was involved with the project long before it became an actual thing--he voiced Sokka in the unreleased pilot episode, too. And Azula was played by Grey Delisle. But every other kid was voiced by someone around their age.

OMG, I REMEMBER CODE LYOKO! XD I don't remember many of the character names until now, but Odd looks good and Aelita looks good, I just didn't like how William was underneath Aelita like he was getting stomped on... they all look fine to me, I'm not an expert on the show since I haven't seen it in years, and I'm not an expert on drawing, but in my opinion, they all look fine. Yumi, Odd, and you colored Aelita really well. 83
