Yes, Twilight Sparkle accidently turned her into a bat!
It was in the episode called, Bats!
Flutterbat though, isn't normal!
How she was drawn in that episode, was different than how they usually drew her!
And I enjoyed it!

Firstly, I'd like to apologize for how I found this picture. I happened to stumble across that other..."critique" you received for this drawing and I thought it only fair to come here and leave an honest opinion; I wish I could have found this under nicer circumstances but that's that.
I like this. I like the zig-zag details in her mane, and even though I don't think that's quite how she looked in the episode, it's a great re-invention. I also like the change in eye-color and the re-imagining of her wings, which look much sturdier in this picture than in the episode.
I think the only thing that bothers me about this picture is the length of her neck. I know that in the show, limbs and other appendages often stretch out to cartoonish lengths (Thank you, Pinkie), but in artwork it always throws my eye off, for some reason. Another thing I noticed is her hind legs are a tad too short, especially the right one; but really, these are nitpicks.
Again, I like the picture, even with it's simplicity, and I'm sorry you were on the receiving end of a troll. Those are never fun to deal with.

Anyway, I'll take your advice, and I'll try to improve on it more!

Actually, with the animation there may not be that much to do. As I said before, the length of neck is something that's commonly done in the show, but doesn't (in my opinion, anyway) translate very well to still pictures. If it's animated, then you might be okay. Same thing with the back feet--show her hooves dropping down in a frame or two, so you can see that they're the same size and not shrunken. xDD
