Description
Finally got around to finishing my third Sunset Shimmer piece! This time I decided to not shade it as shading is a lot of work (and I wanted to get something else up quickly). Did a lot of playing around with layering, clipping and other stuff in this one. I may do a couple of non-pony vectors soon, possibly some Avatar: The Last Airbender and maybe some more Chip And Dale Rescue Rangers! I'm thinking about starting to stream too to get me into a vectoring routine (since it's kinda hard for me to get motivated).I'm also very interested in starting up work on my vector suite again, and will definitely be looking for more team members this time around. I'll submit a journal with more details soon!

Haha, she did, I goofed on the title and decided not to edit it since it's kinda a combination of the first two lines of the song (You're never gonna bring me down, you're never gonna break this part of me).

There are a couple of different ways to do it, but the way that I do it is by grouping sections of the vector into clip groups (by selecting different paths and then right clicking and selecting "Create Clip Group"). Inside the clip group I then add dark colored shading shapes and adjust them to where I want the shading to go. I then put a blur on these shapes, the lower the blur value the harder the shading. It gets quite complicated with more complex pieces, and there's a lot of layer planning that goes on ahead of time. If objects aren't layered correctly, I need to adjust them while adding the shading, which can kinda be a pain.
I might do a shading tutorial stream / video soon, might come in handy for anyone who's looking to shade their vectors. In the meantime you can check out the SVG files of some of my shaded vectors to see how they're put together if you want
