One of my favorite old pieces, this is one I did almost exactly six years ago. I probably like it because somewhere in the back of my mind it must have been a birthday gift to myself. There's so many elements here that I personally love. The color might be the most obvious one for those that know me, but there's a depth and movement that I love as well. It might be the way the 3-D core of the flower spreads out to the painted 2-D surface of the canvas. In any case, it's an idea I'll definitely play around with again, perhaps in the form of a series.

Regarding the size, I must apologize it's somewhat small by today's standards. When I made the piece, this dimension was still considered a decent size (at least for my monitor). I might try to re-make it in a larger ratio at a later date, but for now this is as big as it gets.
