My fan-evolution chart for the newly revealed generation 6 Fire-Starter Pokemon, Fennekin.
the made up names for the first and second evolution are:
Kodios (Ko (Japanese for Fox)-Dios (Spanish for "God") An interesting little trait I wanted to establish was that Kodios is a god-in-progress esentially. The floating stones show the japanese symbol for "Fire", and as Fennekin's 2nd form, I gave Kodios an additional tail, and additional 'wing' of fur on the hind legs.
and Kitsudios (Kitsune (A Mythical shape-shifting creature that natively takes the form of a fox)-Dios (Spanish for "God"). For Kitsudios I wanted to establish a full-fledged transformation, eyes paled out with divine energy, a dominant mane, and an additional tail and hind-leg 'wing' of fur. I also wanted to make it clear that the floating stones were fully established as relics for Kitsudios. The 4 Symbols mean Fire, Strength, Courage and Wisdom.

I wish these were the real evolutions of fennikien. The real 2 evolutions have to much of a female like appearance.Which would be fine if not for the fact that most fennekins turn out to be males 87% of the time.

The same way Alakazam has spoons and Probopass has Mini-Noses, I just thought they'd be something to accentuate the Pokemon and what they represent (In this case, their Psychic Energy, hence Kitsudios' glowing eyes). As far as gender goes, I wanted them to kind of resemble wolves, foxes and Lions all at the same time, interpret their gender as you will.

Ko means small, not fox. Kitsune is Japanese for fox. So essentially your Kodios would be more like "small god" instead.Β

Froakie got to be a badass ninja when everyone thought his evolution was gonna be just a big dumb frog meanwhile people thoughΒ fennekin was going to be a (cooler ninetails) awesome foxy badass....insteadΒ fennekin involves to a biggerΒ fennekin with a broom for a tail and then into a stereotypical housewife.

Re: Turtle Pokemon: There are four turtle Pokemon. HOWEVER, they are each significantly different from each other. One is a water-type with cannons on its back, one is a fire/steel-type that looks a bit derpy and is more suited for a steampunk setting (IMO), one is a grass-type based off the World Turtle, one is a pre-historic water/rock turtle, and one is Shuckle. Each of these five Pokemon fill a different and unique niche that none of the others can fill.
Re: Mouse Pokemon: Yes, there are a lot of rodent Pokemon. But they each manage to serve a different niche, with some small overlap within same-type Pokemon. For example, Plusle and Minun can be said to be copies of Pikachu, but they're really quite different. The biggest point being that Plusle and Minun are based around teamwork and helping each other, whereas Pikachu is a solo act. Pikachu is based on a pika, a type of Japanese mouse, and Pachirisu is based on a squirrel. Emolga is based on a flying squirrel, which, while similar, is still different enough. And there are even differences within the normal-type rodents, ranging from rats to meerkats to raccoons and many more.
As it stands, Fennekin does not supercede Vulpix. Vulpix is a kitsune, whereas Fennekin is clearly based off a fennec fox. If Fennekin evolved into another kitsune, it would just be another kitsune. Only it would be 'better' than Vulpix, because whereas Ninetails should have been Fire/Psychic, if the rumor mill is to be trusted, Fennekin's final evolution [i]will[/i] be fire/psychic. And if it was also a kitsune, then that would just be a massive troll for poor Ninetails. It already kind of is.

Nice, nice, very nice! However, one problem: Generation VI is based in Europe, as you can see on the trailer, which shows the Eiffel Tower, which is in Paris, which is in Europe. Generations I-IV have been based off Japan geographically, and I don't remember where Generation V is based off...
