Description
Late Jurassic northern Germany. A small group of Europasauruses is migrating along the shoreline of the Bohemian Massiv. A Island in the shallow sea that covered most parts of Germany. They are the biggest dinosaurs on this island and adult individuals have to natural predators. In groups their're even saver, especially the juvenilles need the safety of a group.
Along their migration a few dsungarepterid pterosaurs are currently on the search for food. They migrated here from Asia and therefore are strange visitors from a far world they have never seen.
A small theropod is following the Europasaurus group while looking for washed up corpses of marine animals but because it knows the dangers of it's world, it always keeps distance to the water. Predators like the neosuchia Goniopholis are just waiting for something to come to close.
But all of this is normal in their lifes and later that day a storm is moving towards them but because it is not coming from the sea but from the direction of the forest they are scared to move towards the treeline. After the storm comes closer the small herd starts panicing and try to hurry which leaves a older and weak Europasaurus behind. The small theropod now sees a chance to seperate it from the group entirelly.
For the first moment it goes well but then he suddenly turns around, trying to get away. The leader of the group now stops to wait for the old one with the others to regroup but the old one is now the target of something that is far more threating than anything they have ever seen. A giant predator walking slowly towards them but still faster than the old Europasaurus and the group now must get away as quik as possible away leaving the old behind again, but after a few seconds the theropod has reached the old one and without any effort it takes him down. Between the panicing Europasaurus group the small theropod is feeling the threat and uses them as cover while another one of the giant predators approches Β from the tree line, with yet another target already on sight.
Well, now it's finally finished. After more than three moths of work. I have to say that this was by far the biggest and hardest picture I've ever drawn, and it's the best I ever made. It really took way longer than I expected. When I started I thougt it would probably take about 3 weeks, I think that was very stupid to believe that.Β
Again I really hope you like it.
Over the time I made it I got telled by Hyrotrioskjan that we have no fossils of Dsungaripterids in Germany so now their entirlly speculative to be there, also the Small Megalosauridae is speculative as well.
It might not be 100% accurate but I tried my best on it. Oh, and it was the first picture I've ever drawn with Aquarell colours so please tell me how I used it and if it's good.
1. Edit: I wasn't really happy with the sky so I just updated the picture.
18.06.2017/2. Edit: I decided to rename the picture as it wasn't my own Idea and rewrite the little story to it.
28.07.2018/3. Edit: Updated to better quality.
