If you get a house cat's skull you can line them up as 'small', 'medium', and 'large'.

A cougar and a mountain lion are the same animal but a lynx and a bobcat are two different animals.

Yes, the bobcat is North American but there are American lynx and European lynx.

sorry to interrupt but bobcat is named red lynx in europe and lynx rufus is scientific name. american lynx is lynx canadensis
so america has 2 lynx species.
