Description
Skull from a House Sparrow (Passer domesticus). This species is an Old World sparrow and can be identified as such by the width of its beak which is much thicker than the beaks of sparrows native to the Americas. They were deliberately introduced to North America in the late 19th century and today is the most common species of bird in the country. Thanks to this invasive species, the numbers of native North American species such as bluebirds have dropped dramatically.
Disclaimer: I did not kill this animal. If you do not like what you see, don't look at it! Also, don't bother wasting your time leaving rude or pointless comments here, they will be ignored.

Are their beaks white or is that just from the cleaning process?
*Should know as they are native*

The dark beak covers came off in the cleaning process. This was was one of my early bird skulls (or possibly even my first), so I hadn't yet learned how to keep the beak covers.

How do you keep the beak covers? Hang it so that part isn't dipped in, or dilute the hydrogen peroxide or what? Love these guys

The beak covers usually fall off or at least become loose during the boiling and I keep them out of the hydrogen peroxide to be glued on later.
