All of you know this song, I'm sure. Lion Sleeps Tonight, or "Mbube", its original title. It's an illustration for 's Anniversary Contest. He tells us to illustrate our favourite song or a song that is meaningful to us, which this certainly is.

It's not a deep song, it's not something that will make you cry, look for hidden meanings (hidden content lol) or even get up and dance, but it's certainly something that makes me smile. I don't if it's because I was born in the same year that "Lion King" came out and I've watched it as kid hundreds of times, if it's because the Timon & Pumba cartoons, if it's because it reminds you of Africa and animall life, or just because it has a lot of History and Legend in it. I honestly really like this song in basically every version ever done.

Since the song is so simple and almost random, I thought of doing the same with the picture. I used a lot of colour pens, ones on top of the others, mixed everything in my sketch book, it still even has annotations on the borders for other stuff in the same page, which now also has drawings of nubbers, hyenas, and that guy from The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy who wrote all those books about God (whose name I'm sure Fotus is gonna remind me).
